Sensi Azores Nature and SPA

The hotel website and pictures, led us to believe it is a luxury hi end hotel.
In reality , it’s not even coming close.
The room got filled with flies, every day after the cleaners did their job .
The tv, had no sound ,and it is a very small size old tv.
It is not a smart tv , and no way to connect to smart phone .
Or use Netflix…,
No large screen tv in any other communal space.
No gym what so ever , not even a dedicated space large enough to even do any yoga or stretching.
The sauna was broken for all our 4 days stay .
The outdoor pool is freezing .
The inside pool is very small, don’t be fooled by the pictures….
Only 4 lounges next to the pool .,,,,
They are understaffed, so service in breakfast and dinner is slow and the guests have to wait forever for the order.

All this comes in a very high price , double than the best hotels in Porto.
Very poor ratio between what you pay and what you get.

One of the only bad experiences we had in a 4 weeks stay in Portugal .

Our stay was at best mediocre. Other than burgers at the bar (with such low seats it’s impossible to eat comfortably) the food was overall very disappointing. Breakfast was the worst on the island with hard bread and underseasoned eggs and truly unbelievably bad coffee. We experienced a steady stream of bugs in to our room even with doors and windows closed (unfortunately) and felt isolated so far away from other dining options and tourist sites, particularly for the extremely high prices out of proportion to the rest of the island. Far and away, however, the worst part was coming home to find that Sensi Spa charged us ON A SEPARATE CARD for ANOTHER room WHILE WE WERE CHECKED IN FOR OUR RESERVATION and deemed us a “no show” for that other fraudulent reservation. They have not responded or accepted any responsibility for the unbelievable theft they’ve committed, and we are fighting this with our credit card company. BEWARE.

Very small pours on wine - 4 oz. I would rather pay more for a proper 6-8 oz. Stingy.

The staff was extremely professional and attentive. The room was clean and quiet and the views are amazing. We would come back in a heart beat.

Pleasant stay. Very quiet hotel in a remote area. Rooms and spa had a nice calming vibe. Pretty water view but the dead fields in front of our room were not very pleasing to the eye. I'm not sure I would rate it 5*... more like a 4 star. But staff was nice and the rooms and bathroom were spacious and clean

The whole property was stunning- from cute patio overlooking the ocean, to pool side service to breathtaking rooms

Gorgeous pool, great spa services, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was awesome. Loved the food too!

It was incredibly relaxing and peaceful staying at sensi. The views of the ocean were beautiful. The massages were top notch and the food was unique, thoughtful and delicious. Staff were welcoming and attentive.

The most amazing hotel on the island of Sao Miguel! The restaurant and pool made it tempting to stay on the property but there is so much beautiful scenery and sights to experience. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed in three nice hotels in different areas of the island and Sensi was my favorite by far. It's built around a farmhouse from the 1800's and the property is beautiful. Large, well-decorated rooms and charming common areas. The ocean and sunset views can not be beat. Didn't get to use the pool but it's lovely. Easy parking, fast WiFi, great AC, comfy beds. Both the restaurant and bar were places I'd be happy to eat and drink for a week (great cocktails!) The staff was the friendliest I encountered on Sao Miguel, and very professional. Quick responses when I emailed about a couple things pre-arrival. Hope to come back and spend more than 2 nights!

I had the most relaxing time.
I visited last year and came back this year and will go back again in the near future.
Everything was just perfect except the bottled water in the room should be more generous.

We spent five wonderful nights at Sensi and felt lucky for this introduction to Sao Miguel. The resort is situated on a special property (formerly a farm), with an incredible view of the ocean and a cornfield stretching down to it. The grounds are beautifully laid out and manicured, with green lawns, mature, graceful trees, and a pool that would make our top five list. The sun sets dramatically over the ocean in full view from the property. A visiting artist would be kept busy with all the worthy scenes to paint! We were lucky to stay in a premiere room, one of the few upper rooms that looks out over the ocean. The windows are so big, it’s as though you’re outside. We slept with the windows open and listened to the Corey Shearwaters, birds that are almost entirely unique to the Azores.

We found the quiet country location to be far preferable to a busy town or city hotel. It’s convenient to sights such as Sete Cidades and Ponta da Ferraria Hot Springs. We also found the hydrangeas and flowers on this side of the island to be most abundant.

The breakfast and dinner service was impeccable and delicious. The restaurant at Sensi, MÔMÔ is top notch and we were wowed by every meal.

Finally, but importantly, the staff at Sensi, MOMO and the bar, were all excellent and bent over backward to make our stay delightful.

Everything and everyone was perfect at this spectacular resort well-located in the west. Joanna in reception was extremely helpful. Daniella in the restaurant was so friendly and made our every wish come true. She is a true professional. Nulan in the spa did the most amazing deep tissue massage, and his words of wisdom afterwards will stay with me for a long time. If you are going to the Azores as a couple this is the place to be.

Absolutely gorgeous property! Service and amenities (outdoor pool, sauna, indoor small warm pool) were simply perfect. The area is a bit tucked away so you’ll need a rental car - but on the other hand, spending a few days here just relaxing is great too! Views are amazing, beds are comfy, food is really good. Property has a calming, quiet, adult vibe. I would happily return!

Tucked away in a quiet spot overlooking the ocean, this is a great place to unwind and a good base for seeing the sights of the western side of Sao Miguel. Great food options and the outdoor area with infinity pool set among the trees is really beautiful.

We were early so the room was unavailable but we were offered a welcome drink. During our lunch we were surprised to get a birthday cake plate for my wife’s birthday. It was very kind of the hotel. We also got a handwritten welcome letter from the owners.

There was one night during my stay at Sensi when I realized I was totally relaxed in a way that is rare for this working senior from NYC. And yes, it was this place, watching the sunset, listening to cool, mellow jazz on the sound system and enjoying a glass of Vino Verde. I loved this hotel. It’s a converted farm and the old stone walls provide the motif for a very chill vibe. I love the modern design touches….the dining room, bar overlooking the sunset, the outdoor area, the deep pool and the indoor warm plunge pool. Our room was off an atrium and overlooked the ocean although it was about a mile off. The room was beautifully designed. We had room 8 and will include pix. The staff is top notch, very friendly and eager to please. They work hard! No complaints. Highly recommended. The food at breakfast is everything you’d want and there are good dinner selections. I preferred eating at the bar because we did not have to have a set seating time. Enjoy!
