The fact that we were sold on the kitchen staying open until 10 only to be turned away at 920 because they decided to close early. Having to drive to get food was not ideal. And the pool was filthy dirty. Nasty! 🤢

The front desk people the extra charge to my car that shouldn’t have been charged and the hotel itself. The lobby is clean, but the hallways to the room are pretty old and need to be renovated a lot of things need to be renovated.

Fun vibe, nice pool, but hotel needs some updates, and could have been cleaner.
Pros:

I read a ton of reviews on this hotel before booking, so I was prepared for what to expect, and I would say other reviews are pretty spot on. PROS: Loved the colorful look and fun vibe of the place, overall. The pool area was great, and I really appreciated that it was open until 10:00pm, unlike so many other hotels, which seem to close even before the sun sets. The music didn't bother us at all; in fact, we quite liked the upbeat vibe. We also bought tickets to the on-site Drag Brunch, which was a total blast. By the way, free parking = yay. Also, right across the street is a Ralph's, so that's convenient if you need to grab some snacks or drinks. I'd say this hotel was a decent value, particularly for Labor Day Weekend, when everyone majorly jacks up prices (no joke, I saw a Motel 6 going for nearly $500/night - ridiculous). The Saguaro served its purpose in providing us some entertainment, and a place to escape for a couple nights, so overall, we were satisfied.

Cons:

CONS: As many others had stated, the ice machines were pretty much all out of order. We never did find one that was working (although I think there was one). Also, the elevator closest to our room (which was still not super close) was not working late at night, so we had to trek a bit farther, which wouldn't have normally been an issue, however, my boyfriend currently has a knee injury, and we were carrying a bunch of stuff, so that wasn't ideal for us. Beware that if you go to the pool late at night, there probably won't be any more towels available. That was our experience both nights we went. The cleanliness of the place was not the greatest, and the general upkeep of the building could really use some work -- I mean, it's an older hotel (built in the 70s, revamped in 2012), and we knew that going in, so it was what it was. The bathroom in particular definitely had some wear. Note: housekeeping won't come unless you request them (we were only there 2 nights, so we didn't bother, but it was fine). For some reason, before I was prompted to write this review, it indicated I had requested a "quiet" room, but I don't recall doing that, and never would have, on purpose. I actually had a pool view room with balcony (a free upgrade, which was nice), however, we literally could not have been any further away from the pool, and had to stretch our necks way out and around the corner to even see it, so that was a bit of a bummer.
