The staff is lovely! The location is ideal—
Nothing!
Location, amenities and service! Really top notch!
Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Noble checked us in and overheard us saying we'd forgot our water in the car, so gave us extra welcome bottled water.
Very mixed opinions on this stay.
Good:
- The valet staff are amazing, especially Scott. Always happy to see us, went absolutely above and beyond in every way.
- The room was cozy, mostly clean aside from some small things, and the bathtub in the giant shower room was phenomenal.
- Close to the pier, easy to get to the ferry.
- Our tub had a stopper that wasn’t working and they sent someone up immediately to fix it.
Bad:
- After you finish your stay you will get an invoice with a $25 + tax fee for each day. It’s like a resort fee except you don’t know about it till after you leave and all you get for it is complimentary purified water.
- You have to use valet as there is no where to park. The valet is $62.50 a day but what they don’t mention is the tax you pay on that is nearly 25% leaving you with nearly $80 a day before tip for parking. Sometimes you have to wait a good while to get your car as there is one valet there at a time.
- They give you a credit to make up for some of the costs but you have to use it at their restaurant or on the in-room snacks which leads you to need to spend much more than $12 to get the $12 credit.
- The restaurant has the ridiculous prices you would expect at a hotel restaurant. The food does not at all resemble the price point. It’s food that tastes like any other casual restaurant but marketed as something more. The service is slow because they have one waiter at a time for breakfast. The breakfast hours are 8-10 am which I feel is a little tight. They add a 5% surcharge on every bill that they say ensures a living wage for the employees but does not count towards the tip, so instead of factoring employee pay into the food prices, they just hit you with it at the end.
- When we checked in, we were told by the front desk that they would be bring a complimentary bottle of wine to our room, she wrote our name and room number down, and it never came.
- Getting anywhere from this hotel takes forever, it’s all hills so not very walkable and traffic is really bad. Uber and DoorDash are crazy expensive to an unusable level compared to other cities due to $27/hour minimum wage they must pay drivers.
- View from room was not good at all.
I stayed at the The Royal Sonesta Seattle in mid-May and had a fantastic experience. Noble at the front desk was so kind, accommodating, and extremely helpful—he set the tone for the whole stay. My room was fabulous, very comfortable, and a great place to unwind. I also loved the restaurant attached to the hotel; it made meals effortless, and the food was excellent. I can’t say enough—highly recommend
Just wow. This place is the best. Staff are warm, generous, and focused on the details that matter. Style is modern and playful. Breakfast at the restaurant is excellent.
The "room" (1640) is basically an apartment minus the kitchen. Huge living room and table with six chairs, big separate bedroom, wonderful bathroom, large opening hallway (with a skylight!), and huge windows looking out at the city and a bit of Puget Sound. Hard to believe this is where I landed for three days, what a treat.
I'll note that my experience was boosted by Amex platinum ($100 resort credit per room, significant discount below advertised rate, room upgrade, $300 back from hotels credit) and Sonesta Gold benefits (nice welcome package of snacks and sparkling cider, continental breakfast each morning) that you get automatically via Amex --> Hilton Gold --> status match for Sonesta Gold).
Location
wasn’t at all like other reviews. We did not have a nice welcome. Very short…”here’s your keys” no details about wifi or anything else. Did not receive $12 credit to the cafe or any information at all about anything. Just not a welcoming hotel at all.
TOTAL Rip-off. The shower handle was broken, the TV was glitching, and the restaurant was closed so I couldn’t use my $12 credit. Also cost $25 to rent a movie because you can’t stream anything, but then the TV was glitching so it was impossible to watch it. I had high expectations given it’s an AMEX hotel. I was very disappointed.
Stayed in a suite. Room smelled funky. Could be old hotel smell but it was stronger in the bedroom than in the hallway. Carpeted floors that are so thin you can feel the concrete or whatever is hard underneath. One sink in the bathroom for a suite. No fridge. And the worst part was the shower never got hot enough to not be annoyed the whole time you’re in there. Only good thing is proximity to stadiums and markets and the downstairs bartender who pours em heavy. Wouldn’t stay again.
Beautiful architecture, artworks and modern facilities
The view from our room was second to none. We were warmly welcomed and cared for by all the staff , but specifically Dylan, who took a special interest in us while we were there. The amenities, the room and the comfort of the bed were amazing as well. We had the time of our lives!
I was delighted to upgraded to a room with a view. Particularly being my first trip to Seattle it made it very special.
The room was quiet, comfortable and felt luxurious, particularly the spa bathroom
I was hugely disatisfied by the lack of food service-- bar closed early, no room service and the day I checked out I had to wait 20 minutes just for a coffee and croissant. The coffee shop was woefully understaffed.
Lovely room with a birds nest in the tree outside. Surprisingly quiet and very comfy bed. Tea and coffee making in room and in lobby in the morning. So convenient to stadiums & market
The decor and location
One always hears: Location Location Location! In the case of the Alexis Royal Sonesta that is absolutely true! But that is NOT its #1 selling point. My wife and I spent 8 nights on a combination vacation/business trip! It was the people who made the stay GREAT! We cannot thank Christina, Nobel, Rickey, Kevin (at the Front Desk) and Robert (Security) enough. Our room was impeccably well kept. Information for dining, where to catch the bus for our trip to The Museum of Flight and Valet Parking was just a same part of the service. We had packed light and had our laundry done (wash and fold) without problem. The breakfast and lunch served during our business part of our trip was above average! It was also a pickup point for one of our bus tours! Thanks to everyone!
Staff and location were good. Very quiet and peaceful.
Bed too low and too soft.
We had stated the hotel once before and had a nice time so we thought we would try it again. This time was even better than the first. The staff of the hotel is amazing starting with Noble at the front desk. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and made our check-in experience a breeze.
While dining in the Bookstore Bar, Zach was friendly and attentive.
I don’t tend to write reviews, but I feel like there is a lot a negative sharing and not enough positive so I want to highlight Noble for making our stay truly special.
