Great stay - would stay here again.
Pros:

Staff was great, location was great, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Staff was very helpful when we came early, they kept our luggage until we were able to check in. The parking valet is located next to the hotel and we felt our vehicle was safe and easy to access.

Cons:

You have to request a coffee maker and refrigerator for your room. Our coffee maker did not work and it was tough to find a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. The staff offered to come into our room to fix the coffee maker at 6am, but I sleep in and my husband gets up early for coffee, so that did not work for us. The restaurant doesn't open until 7am and breakfast was not great, just adequate.

I’ve always loved the royal Sonesta hotel, even way back before the rebranding. The funky, trippy vibe is perfect for a
Pros:

The mcm furniture, especially in our suite was so beautiful and unique. The bath tub was HUGE and could fit two people. The bedding/mattress/pillows made it so I had the best sleep that I’d had in a long time. There were two bathrooms in our suite which made getting ready for the concert very easy. Also we loved the coffee down in the lobby every morning, pet policy, and lastly, the valet staff was very accommodating and friendly!

Cons:

There isn’t room service, and also if you order door dash you have to walk all the way down to the lobby to get your food, which was pretty far if you are on the top floor and far from the elevator. There are no smart tv capabilities so I had to purchase a Roku to bypass the (extremely expensive) ancient music streaming app that only lets you choose the genre and not even what artist or song you listen to. There was a short period of time when we got back from the expo center at 2 am and the shower didn’t have any hot water. You could hire maybe more personable night staff…or maybe do some hospitality training on the ones you have. Also maybe a flat rate for valet if you’re staying multiple nights- when you’re paying multiple days (the whole weekend) you are paying for 3 days! Astronomical!! Also maybe upgrading the usb plug-ins or having maybe an alarm clock/speaker with music capabilities that has an adapter with usb-c would be nice!

Special people gave special service
Pros:

We stayed at the Royal Sonesta in Portland for our niece's graduation. The entire family was with us. Every one of us received excellent service and enjoyed our stay. A special thank you to Nadyah in the restaurant. She moved furniture so all of us could sit together for dinner and handled a multitude of orders and complexities with graciousness and aplomb. Tammie also went out of her way, bringing us coffee. At the desk, Alerik and Owen solved problems, got us taxi's, and gave us great tips on what to see. Kudos to all of them.

Upsell on what I paid for. Stay away
Pros:

I made the mistake of going through Priceline to stay at this hotel. I booked the stay in a room with two beds and a couch for 5 people. Priceline made it for 2 people. I called priceline, and they were no help. I called this hotel, and they would not help. They just tried to upsell us. They were very polite as they supported the fraud of Priceline. It was disappointing. (I was fine with a cancel or to stay there.) Usually when a room is expensive, you don't expect to be upsold for things that you paid for. Nathaniel was politely unhelpful.
