Great hotel and best bang for the buck in San Diego!!!!!!
Pros:

I have stayed at Pacific Shores Inn several times and am very impressed the rooms are an excellent value. The property is well kept and clean. Miss Marlene is a total professional, she is extremely bright, accommodating, always providing excellent service not to mention extremely attractive, well kept and carries herself with class. I totally recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the San Diego area.

Convenienty location, decent room with obvious improvements happening.
Pros:

We like the parking/garage availability and the area being close to the beach, shopping and restaurants close by. The closet space was ample, the bathroom vanity was very convenient with plenty of room plus a shelf underneath.

Cons:

Though we were aware this is a Beach town and the beach weather can affect the age of the building but there was a definite gap around the door as to no weather striping, a couple of the Plantain Shutters needed some repair, and the shower water pressure was not comfortable - but we know that California has water restrictions. But with all that said, I believe I would possibly book again in the future, but not necessarily for all my visits because the location was appreciated.

The place has a nice location, that’s what we liked about the place. Hotel was run down and was being rebuilt

Furniture dirty, chipped tables and dresser. Mis-matched paint on walls. Window had not working lock. Bed was uncomfortable.
