Pros:

We had a fun stay. Hotel staff excellent. The hotel itself is okay, but nothing special. The setup of the room is a little odd, with the shower beside the bed, seperate from the toilet. Convenient for local bars and restaurants.

Not recommendable at all.
Pros:

Dear Tripadvisor Users,
Please don't go here... We got a room which was really humid, just unhealthy. The bed was wet and filled with small human hair pieces, the bathroom was full with mold and the toilet was not working. Just an unhealthy environment. Pictures are available.
We asked for a refund, but because of 'policy reasons' this was not possible according the female manager. So with others words, we were forced to sleep in an unhealthy room.
As an alternative they offered us another room, which was in their words an upgrade. The bath was maybe 1m2 bigger, not really an upgrade. The same conditions also here: too humid, wet bed, mold, hairs in the bed, luckily this toilet was working. We slept there only one night at least to try, but the day after I was forced to look for a better hotel. We booked for 3 night, but no single dollar was refunded. Everybody knows that policies also have exceptions...
I think this hotel is unique in promoting themselves in a positive way on internet and social media, but in real life it is one big disappointment. Please don't fall for it.

From Tulum with Love
Pros:

My husband & I stayed here for one night (we were in Mexico for a wedding in Cancun). I read the reviews and wanted to check this hotel out for myself, and it did NOT disappoint!
The room was nice. There are no TVs in the rooms, and you honestly don't miss not having one. We didn't even notice right away.
After our long flight we were going to shower and hit the town, but when we turned on the shower, the shower head wasn't working. We went to the office, and they were extremely apologetic and said they would send someone to fix it. The maintenance person came and was unable to fix it. They then would out to purchase a brand-new showerhead for us (the room). The service was five stars!
The pool area is nice and relaxing, and the beds slept like a dream. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros:

Location very close to main avenue, walking distance. Bikes available to guest. Staff very courteous, friendly and helpful. In the room.. No TV, No phone. Hotel is 2 level, no elevator. Restaurant is currently closed, continental breakfast is available, but later in the morning. It is a very safe and secure facility. Front door locked and monitored 24 hrs. Iron must be requested at front office. Very small fridge in the room. The pool is very well maintained, clean and relaxing atmosphere. We were in and out, therefore it was ok for having a place to sleep. The neighborhood is a bit shabby but safe to walk around, small businesses around corner worth exploring. Pharmacy on corner to get some essentials but opens later in the morning. and taco truck on corner as well. Lots of construction going on in the area. No noise, however power was affected 1 day of our stay. This is not meant to be a negative review, more so realistic information. Staff is highly accommodating and nice. Loved the home feeling, were treated like family not guest. I will consider returning, if minor adjustments. I need a TV to keep up with the world, or just for weather update. Thank you Era team

In love with Era Hotel
Pros:

Great stay at Era Hotel.
The room was soooo comfortable, the bed was very nice too.
The hotel give you free bikes, and a map to show you the different places and possibilities about what to do and where to go.
I use the bikes everyday to move around and discover the beautiful Tulum.
Staff advices and recommendations were very helpful. Thank you Anola, Diego, Rally and Jorge for all your help.
Definitely I will come back next year, and i will not stop recommending you.

Highly recommended!
Pros:

Beautiful rooms, nice vibes, kindest staff (specially Jorge), great location (not in the beach), reasonable price. Just one thing, if you don't feel yourself comfortable using shower while your friend or partner is watching you, is a thing to consider, since the bath doors are made of transparent glass. Spa services are not included in the room rate, but we highly recommend book a service, if you will stay there for a couple of nights. Thanks Era Hotel.

Lovely holidays
Pros:

We stayed at Era Hotel Tulum for 15 days and we can say it worth every penny of our money. Located in a area where is lots of restaurants, by walking distance, perfect location to go to cenotes, lagoons, to the beach. The hotel has free bikes for all the guests, so you can easily move everywhere, the recommendations from the concierge was better keep an eye on the bikes, make sure you locked properly and park the bike in a safe place. Concierge services are great, you can rent scooters, car, electric bikes for a reasonable price. Also they offer taxi cab service, you just tell them at what time you need it and where you are going (in order to get the exact price). Taxis are expensive in all Tulum, but we heard uber is coming there soon.
We schedule 2 tours with front desk, one to chichen itza and another to sian kaan (we just see a tail of a dolphin and a few turtles in our trip but, just staying in the nature was outstanding), so we cannot regreat, the concierge told us in advance, there is 80-90 probabilities to see local fauna in their natural habitat. The rest of the days we were relaxing in the hotel, swimming by the pool, just enjoying, we also booked a massage that was really nice. The rooms was very comfortable, with mediterranean style, very well detailed, minimalist. We we recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. Thank you Era Tulum.

Small and charming hotel in the town of Tulum
Pros:

Small and charming hotel in the town of Tulum. A few steps from downtown (15-20 mins) walking, and same time to get to the beach (driving). There is an important thing to consider in Tulum is to rent a car if you want to visit different places, is a good option (best recommendations with Jorge and Anola, Front Desk). Taxi cabs has high rates, if you are going to the beach more than 2 times daily , definitely rent a car instead get a taxi cab, altough the hotel offers free bicycles.
The guys at the front desk are great, always smiling and with great advice on what to do and where to go.
Definitely excellent value for money.

Pros:

Property was great and the staff were extremely responsive and helpful. The room is as advertised. The area is great to have access to restaurants and bars but not be in the main tourist area of Tulum on the Main Street. A lot of construction is happening everywhere so this could change quickly. Hotel let us spend the whole day by the pool while we waited for our evening flight which was nice. Breakfast was simple but good and included. Hotel is extremely secure and felt safe.

Only minor issue, shower is in the room with only 3 sides stopping water from coming out so the floor gets a bit wet.

Otherwise would recommend as a hotel option.

Pros:

Staying at Era Hotel... is like staying at your favourite Aunt's home!

We were warmly welcomed curb-side with open arms (literally) and a beautiful smile by a vibrant woman named "Anola". Her energy and passion radiated as soon as we laid eyes on her.

Our room was great! It was clean and well maintained. We loved the lush garden and pool. Mario the gentleman who works overnight, was very helpful.

The breakfast which was included with our stay... was WOW! Super fresh, delicious, fast and instagram worthy! lol

The location of the hotel is perfect. It's quiet; yet walkable with several cafe's, shops and restaurants tucked away just around the corner.

Taxi's in Tulum are beyond expensive ($30 USD for 4.5km) So we rented an ATV to get around. It was the best idea and perfect to explore the area and enjoy the beach.

Our airport driver Antonio was great and professional. He went above and beyond to assure that we were well taken care of and were collected and returned to the airport with ample time.

*PRO TIP: As the shuttle service is outsourced. Remember to make sure you have USD cash on you to pay the airport shuttle driver! To avoid any unnecessary stress.

I will be recommending Era Tulum to all of my friends and family. We will certainly be back again soon!

Thank you again for taking such great care of us

Disaster is understatement
Pros:

1. I booked the hotel at Agoda site and send them a question about the sauna.
Apparently it's has a extra cost, which wasn't mentioned, I booked the hotel because of the sauna.
2. I reply to the hotel that it doesn't say extra cost on the site, they reply very rough and rude And say thet don't work with Agoda site. I reply, how can I book from a site that you don't work with, there reply "talk to Agoda and have a good night".
3. Next day I got a message from Anola -the manager that they don't work directly with Agoda and the cost of sauna is "The SAUNA only has a cost of 50 usd for 30 min" I paid for the night 85 USD dollars and she wants 50 USD for 30 min. (I found a place for wet and dry sauna and more facilities for 550 pesos for 3 hours).
4. When I booked, there were a question when is my arrival, I answered estimated time between 6:00-7:00 am.
5. I arrive around 7:00 am, after 13 hours of on the roads, Anola opens the door and said she doesn't have a room for me just at 3 pm. I asked if I can go to the restroom (toilets), she said there is no toilets for guest just if I get the room.
I must say, I'm traveling for almost 20 years, have been visiting a lot of hotels,
Never ever heard such a thing, hotel with out restroom.
Never got such rude, impolite attitude
I went out from the hotel and found a very nice hotel (turquoise hotel). When Anola see me and asked if I'm leaving, I said yes, she couldn't care less.
She just wants your money, nothing more.
Not recommended at all!!!
Costumer service of Agoda send her a message and she refused to give me the money back. Be careful with that hotel please.
