Thoughtful Service That Created Beautiful Birthday Memories

Our recent stay at InterContinental São Paulo was truly memorable, especially thanks to the exceptional team at the Club Lounge.

We would like to sincerely thank Alejandro, Vinicius, Vitoria, and Renata for their outstanding hospitality.

Alejandro was particularly warm and attentive. Knowing that we would continue our journey to Rio de Janeiro — including staying at the Fairmont Rio, where he had previously worked — he generously shared valuable recommendations for attractions and restaurants. During our stay, he and the team arranged a beautifully thoughtful birthday setup in our room, including balloons, a personalized card, printed photos, and a cake. It created a deeply meaningful celebration for my mother and me, and we will always treasure those memories.

Vinicius also deserves special recognition for his dedication behind the bar. His cocktails were crafted with great care and creativity — from delicate lemon and passion fruit carvings to balanced flavors that elevated the lounge experience.

We were also grateful for the early check-in and the comfortable room arrangement provided upon arrival.

There were minor issues in the room — such as a slightly malfunctioning bathroom curtain and a corridor door without a stopper, which unfortunately caused my mother to be lightly hit twice. However, these were small imperfections in an otherwise excellent stay, and they did not overshadow the warmth and professionalism of the team.

Overall, this was a stay defined by people, not just property. Thank you again to the entire team for making our celebration so special.

Business trip from Estonia - blonde tall man.
Pros:

The hotel was okay.
The shower head was not screwed into the wall properly, the room didn't really have anywhere to leave my shoes, there were not enough shelves to store clothes in groups.

Arlan was amazing - great breakfast service and overall excellent experience.

One of the best service I’ve ever seen
Pros:

I have been to this great hotel a few times since 2019. This time I stayed a bit longer.

My rooms was absolutely stunning, spacious, and a very comfy bed with a beautiful view to Almeida Santos and a could see Avenida paulista though.

The pool is nice and there’s staff for a few hours to do the service but you can order things on the phone.

The gym is fantastic, very clean and good environment.

I’d like to point out the impeccable service from all the staff:

From breakfast has a great service provide by Mariano, Arlan, Erivelton , Fernando and
Raimundo. This team shows a great potencial of what is costumer service. High skills and gentle communication. I think the hotel should be proud of this dream team.

At the Bar the staff Cello and Gustavo always smiling and prepare delicious drinks 🍸 and order the best food from the restaurant

Raquel one of the housekeeper very polite and great service in my room.

I hope this review can reach every single name that I have mentioned.

São Paulo Intercontinental, again and again 😀
Pros:

Firstly, it’s an absolutely beautiful property. One of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. As a frequent traveler, you notice the little things that make your room more comfortable. They nailed every detail.

Secondly, the Staff is unceasingly, friendly and helpful. They learned recognize me very quickly and would always greet me as I walked through the lobby.

Thirdly, the breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of choices, nice presentation and the coffee was especially good.

Service at the bar was exceptional Chelo, absolutely made our New Year’s Eve, after a reservation got cancelled at another restaurant he did an incredible job making us at home and exceed at every point. Thank you so much chelo!

Good, comfortable, well located Hotel with friendly staff.

TAXI TO/FROM AIRPORTS
Do NOT get the Hotel to organise airport collection. It was a rip off at R$ 1600.00 when you can easily get an Uber/General taxi for a fraction of the price (literally) - even if you are jet lagged after a long flight !

RECEPTION
The Reception was pleasant but we were very disappointed to be charged for early arrival when we later discovered that the hotel was practically empty ; not a very charitable gesture on Christmas Day

ROOM
The room was very comfortable complete with daily fresh linen/towels and complimentary water. Air conditioning was good and not noisy.

LOCATION
Superb. Av Paulista just around the corner - there was even a Pharmacy dead opposite the hotel.

BREAKFAST
Fabulous breakfast with very efficient and friendly waiters. A fabulous buffet and the highlight was the freshly made Açai with orange or banana juice. Good coffee too.

GROUND FLOOR BAR
Great service from CHELO in the main bar. Extremely friendly, very efficient and nothing was too much trouble.

Very good service and food!
Pros:

Chelo was our bartender and waiter for the evening and made sure we had a great dinner. He was very kind and helpful with telling us about the food and even the São Paulo area. The food was also all very good, I recommend the steak if you’re a meat eater.

Great staff cannot save a crumbling hotel
Pros:

The staff was the highlight of the stay. They were polite, welcoming, and tried their best to help. When I mentioned issues with the room, they called to check in and even sent a technician immediately (though the equipment was too old to be fixed). We also appreciated the gesture of a note and chocolates. The breakfast spread was generous, and the room itself had good space and nice storage.

Cons:

The hotel is tired and feels like it's falling apart. We were "upgraded" to the Paulista Suite (Room 401), but being on the 4th floor of a 20-story building meant we were right above the restaurant vents. The hallways and even the clean towels smelled strongly of food and grease.Sometimes to cigarettes with everything closed.

Sleep was impossible: the AC measured a deafening 50dB from the bed, and the curtains were translucent, letting full sunlight in at 6 AM.

Housekeeping was also lacking; we were two guests but only received one robe and one pair of slippers, and I found trash on the floor a day after room was made.

This property needs a serious renovation to be considered 5 stars.
