Location, dining,
Lack of i formation at check in
The property was a beautiful historic hotel in a picture-perfect town. Our second night was rainy but they happily served us on the porch dining area since we travel with our little dogs - exceptional service!
The shower needed a good scrubbing.
Well run, pleasant staff, great value for price. We will return
Hard find ones way around inside
Lack of windows — during night, light bleeds in from hallway through door
Great location. Atmospheric place. Comfortable bed. Nice toiletries.
Check in was chaotic - the staff member who checked us in was on the phone throughout despite a free co-worker standing next to her, and neither apologised. We didn't get any intro about the inn or any proper info about breakfast or dinner so we didn't have either there.
The room was small especially the bathroom, which had some black mould on the ceiling.
Road next to the Prescott wing is noisy.
Centrally located and convenient to everything.
Since it is an older building, quite a few stairs to deal with.
Breakfast was small and not what was advertised because it was a Monday
Bed was uncomfortable
Shower head was weak
Breakfast was skimpy
If you want to be in the center of one of the most historic towns in the US, you can not beat this hotel. Built in 1716, once owned by the Thoreau family and reportedly has ghosts! What’s not to like? Recent refurbishment makes the ancient building look great!
There should have been something offered for breakfast, even just a fruit bowl, if nothing else.
We were visiting to see the local sights and attend a lecture at the museum. The room was small but efficient. The bathroom had high-end finishes. The parking was great. We had dinner with friends. My partner was able to try all the New England classic dishes he had never experienced. It was a terrific stay and I would stay again.
While it was fine for us, there were no elevators on our floor, and the route to our room required climbing up and down a number of stairs. This is something to consider if you stay and have mobility issues. You can ask for an easier access room when making a reservation.
Perfect location, amazing history and great room
There was a clump of hair in the corner of shower from previous occupants
I love the age and architecture and history and quirky beauty of the hotel especially the incredibly old uneven floors.. the beds were super comfy ..felt a child pushing my hip. Looked down nothing. Are there child ghosts?
I was there just for the evening to be closer for the following day's appointment. Room was comfortable and clean.
Nice location
Great staff

Lovely old hotel in lovely old town
