During our stay the fire alarm went off and woke us all up at 6am and had to evacuate. It was not ideal but the issue was quickly resolved and we were all up by 6.45am. We hope the issue was fixed and we will be coming back over and over again because Balzac is the best hotel in Paris
Nice hotel, second stay within a year for several nights. Location is good, some rooms are perfect (depends on room plan, very different, we stayed in junior suite which has 2 very different types of room).
I believe the hotel should develop correct attitude towards loyal customers. No welcome in the room with some small bottle of wine. We faced several issues during the stay where Hotel was not correct (Example - they forgot one dish from room service order and refused to solve the issue somehow as kitchen became closed. Had to order delivery to the hotel. No excuse at all next day). I believe for such boutique hotels the approach should be much more warm and client oriented - that is what I normally see in good examples of small 5 stars hotels. Here is just okay.
It was truly a remarkable stay! A grey-haired gentleman introduced us to the hotel and was incredibly knowledgeable and kind! We had a beautiful, very Paris-like view from our room, everything was even more beautiful than in the photos & the smallest details were thought of. The lighting in the room was very cozy, for a small room that it was, we had around 5 different lamps which made the evening feel super warm and homey. The spa was open almost all the time and my husband was allowed to go to sauna after midnight which was truly incredible and nothing that we have encountered anywhere else! An amazing location on a quiet street.
