When we arrived at the Ft Lauderdale Embassy Suites around midnight we were told by the desk clerk John that they didn’t have our room which we had reserved months ago and checked into online the previous day. He told us they were sending us to another hotel down the street but no reservation had been made for us at that hotel. This was the most unprofessional experience we have ever encountered at a hotel despite the fact that we are diamond members of Hilton. We will never trust staying at this hotel given our experience and the way we were treated there. Several other groups arrived while we were there and were told the same thing so this was not an isolated experience.
We had a wonderful dinner and experience. Our server,Paula, was great! Friendly, prompt and fun.
This is a great hotel. We enjoyed the pool, the guest reception, and a clean, comfortable room with a view! The hotel interior was absolutely beautiful. Staff was very friendly. I'd say the only drawback was the elevators. There were 5 small elevators, but only 2 working. You can imagine the lines waiting, with a hotel full of cruise ship passengers. We were on the 12th floor so the stairs were not an option with luggage. They did get a third elevator going but it broke down again the next morning. Even the cleaning staff were having to use these elevators.. Embassy suites is not 4-star, but it is not a cheap place either. The elevator issue really needs to be addressed. For this reason, I would have to give it a "good", otherwise I would rate it "excellent".
Good location for cruise.
It’s very dated. For the price the rooms especially the bathrooms are not up to the standards they should be.
We paid a premium rate for our suite based on representations made on Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th St., website stating that all suites include snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, replenished daily. This did not occur at any point during our stay.
Additionally, the suite we selected was advertised as having a balcony with a table and two chairs. What we received instead was a balcony that was essentially a narrow ledge—unsafe and unusable, and nothing close to what was shown online.
Upon arrival, the room had the following issues:
Garbage left in the room
An unpleasant odor
No snacks or beverages
When I contacted the front desk, I was told snacks and drinks were delivered between 6:00 and 9:00 PM. We returned later that evening to find nothing had been delivered. I then contacted the hotel manager via text, who apologized, thanked me for bringing this to her attention, and assured me the issue would be addressed.
The following day, once again, nothing was delivered.
Compounding these issues:
Only a few elevators were operational
The hotel was clearly overwhelmed due to cruise passengers, resulting in excessive elevator wait times
Food was left on the floor in front of an elevator and remained there for at least three days, according to other guests—and was still there when we departed
As a resolution, I was offered either $200 or 20,000 Hilton Honors points. I accepted the 20,000 points, however they have never been posted to my account.
This stay fell far below Hilton’s standards and the experience promised at the time of booking. I can easily say we will NEVER stay there again.
Despite the long lines at check in, the front desk staff were so nice and patient. Offered great tips and were super helpful, special shout out to Kathleen!
Great location. Close to airport and cruise ship terminal
needs updating. Facility felt dingy and unkempt
Overall I was pretty disappointed with my experience at the hotel. Given the other hotels nearby, this is not worth $300-400/night. The parking situation is annoying as well. There's a GR code to scan, and you have to pay for it through a different transaction. The only upside was the staff. They were responsive and respectful. I appreciate the front deck staff was able to check us in and called us when our room was ready. I thought I checked in on the Hilton app beforehand, and requested an early check in. But when I arrived at the hotel, it was as if none of that happened. The hotel room was adequate although it was clearly run down. The bathroom toilet seat was loose, there were unpatched holes in the wall and the tub had noticeable dings. The beds were adequate but worn and lumpy. Really the absolute worst was check out when my husband had to wait 30 minutes for an elevator. Out of the 5 in the hotel, 2 were out of service. After 30 minutes, he gave up and carried our 4 suitcases down 4 flights of stairs.
Would recommend this hotel whether you are looking to stay close if cruising or not. Very nice and well kept up. Hotel staff is very friendly. Have restaurant and bar or property as well as few others can walk to local in area. Rooms are nice and spacious.
Localização
Dos 5 elevadores 2 quebrados , não demorou muito e o terceiro elevador quebrou.
Criando uma verdadeira odisseia descer com as malas.
Worst Embassy Suites ever. Elevators barely worked entire stay. Refused to open only stairs to pool for most or week. Guests had to carry bags up 7 flights of stairs due to broken elevators, no help offered to carry bags. Whole place is very tired and in need of refresh. Breakfast end evening reception a joke compared to other Embassy Suites. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else.
Melissa Harrison was amazing! She is a guest ambassador and is super respectful and understanding. She is knowledgeable about Hilton and the rewards programs.
Stayed Jan 1-4 prior to cruise, with our granddaughter. Avoid at all costs, unless you are prepared to accept chaotic breakfasts lacking seating and minimal staff; one towel left in room for three people, sofa bed never made up, elevator failure with people stuck inside on departure day (apparently a regular occurrence), food trays left in hallways for extended periods, and worst of all - BEDBUGS in one of the queen beds.
This hotel is a dump-Hilton should be ashamed to have its name linked to it. After discussing with my travel agent requesting a refund, it was refused and swept under the rug.
Kathleen at the front desk was amazing. She was very efficient with our check-in and we are having a great time in Fort Lauderdale.
Paula from Taste is AMAZING !! Customer service was incredible!
This hotel was spot on. We had no problems from checkin to checkout. One night stay before our cruise. The ladies who ran the lounge Amy and Elizabeth were the best. Very polite and friendly. They knew their job and ran it well. This hotel offers small incentives that aren’t mentioned… well done
We’ve stayed here before but this is our first visit since it was refurbished. Wow. Our room was lovely and the public spaces were very nice. Really nice staff and the happy hour and free breakfast were great. Love the location. Easy walk to restaurants, Publix and other stores.
