Great hotel! Loved the staff, decor and ambiance! Parking is a little expensive.
Pros:

Location, ambience, history, decor

Cons:

There was no covering (shower curtain over the window) and there is a big chance of leaking to below. Caulking was split and cracked and water got all over the big blinds. Also the toilet was not cleaned u see the run-black, dirty. Just needs protection from water from shower, recalling, removing black abd repainting g. This gem of a hotel deserves the best treatment! And found out I am distantly related to Davey Crockett!

Pros:

Very nice hotel, central location, comfortable bed and pillows.

Cons:

The temp in my room would not move off 75 no matter what temp I set it to. Water in the shower was either scalding you or freezing you, during your shower no regulation. Someone put there dirty dishes in the hall friday night, when I left sunday they were still there.

All in all, the venue was in close proximity to downtown, up close to shopping, dining, bars,
Pros:

The historic venue was majestic and the room was nice and cold. Perfect temperature to come back and unwind after a long walk along the riverwalk.

Cons:

There was debris inside the pool and it looked dirty.

The room was not worth the expense and definitely not the experience.
Pros:

Just location!

Cons:

I went for a nursing conference that I personally paid for, so I expected at minimum a clean and safe room. Instead, while showering, a massive roach came crawling out of the vent and startled me so badly I almost slipped and fell. It then ran into the bedroom, and when I tried to get it out, the roach actually flew directly at me.
On top of that, the room had a horrible rotten cheese smell that made the entire stay uncomfortable. I reported everything to management immediately, especially the roach issue, and the only thing they offered was moving me to another room. There was no apology that felt sincere, no discount, and no compensation whatsoever despite the awful experience.
For the price I paid, this was completely unacceptable. Guests should not have to deal with roaches, foul odors, and poor customer service. I left extremely disappointed.

Pros:

The hotel is beautiful, with many interesting, historical displays. The location is excellent, being right next to the Alamo and a short walk to the Riverwalk.Staff were friendly and attentive and I couldn't believe how affordable it was.

Cons:

The beds were very firm and our room was adjacent to a very creaky staircase that woke us up several times. The bathtub was a little dingy, but otherwise it was excellent.

Wish it had been a better experience.
Pros:

Love the location and the hotel itself is beautiful and well kept. The valet was exceptional. We had to leave our bags with them after checkout because we weren’t leaving right away. They could not have been more accommodating.

Cons:

Our room had a very strong odor of mildew. The bathroom was the worst smelling. Pillows were super small and very uncomfortable. Our A/C worked but only had one setting for cold and it never shut off. When we did turn it off it got hot and the mildew smell was worse. We ordered breakfast to be delivered at 8 am because we were in a time crunch. It didn’t arrive until 8:50 so my husband didn’t have time to eat because he had somewhere to be at 9. Order was also wrong and missing a lot of items. We asked about late checkout when we arrived and were told that we had to ask about it the next morning. So I went down very early the next morning to see if it was possible. Before I finished my sentence I was abruptly cut off being told “We aren’t doing late checkouts because we are fully booked so that’s not happening.” I’ve stayed there many times before and this was the worst experience. As much as I love the hotel, I will be staying elsewhere the next time and only visit the property.

A nice stay and a wonderful way to experience the history of San Antonio
Pros:

Great location for walking in that area. Comfortable bed and lovely linens. Lots of character and charm.

Cons:

Quirky with lots of up and down random stairs and a maze of hallways of additions over the years. The address listed will not get you there with Mapquest and after circling the congested area had to call for directions. Valet only there and pricey.
