Wonderful hotel and staff and closest to the Alamo
Our visit to the historic Menger Hotel started off on a great note thanks to the valet team. Leilah and Joel provided amazing service right from the moment we arrived. They were friendly, professional, and made the whole arrival process smooth while helping with our bags and getting us settled in. They really set the tone for a great experience.
The hotel itself is beautiful and full of history, which makes it feel like stepping back in time. It’s also in an incredible location downtown right next to The Alamo and just a short walk to the San Antonio River Walk, where you can find great restaurants, bars, and shops. There’s so much to explore nearby, which makes it perfect whether you’re visiting for sightseeing or a night out downtown.

Cleanliness was superb through the hotel and surrounding grounds; especially for an old establishment. Room accommodations were comfortable and relaxing
Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Area construction presented challenges with proper driving directions upon arrival. In addition, hotel desk could not give helpful directions. Wasted time to finally discover a simple route from 35 South
Savannah provided excellent valet service during my stay at the Menger Hotel. She was pretty friendly and very helpful. She handled everything quickly and smoothly, which in my experience is hard to find when i choose to valet my vehicle. 10/10 experience at the Menger, Great job Savannah

Excellence from valet to check-in. Faith was attentive and easy to communicate our driving needs. Eric checked us in and gives immediate and awesome service at the front desk! Hotel has plenty of indoor historical sites, very close to the mall entrance and riverwalk amenities. Highly recommend!
My experience was great especially the valet parking attendants, so helpful. Been a long time since I got 5 star treatment from valet. They even asked if we wanted water bottles for the road. Great 👍🏻 service all the way around. The menger is truly an historic gem!
I loved the art and the old architecture. It is a really cool looking hotel.
The parking of course, valet was a little pricy and I wish there were clear instructions on how to get close to drop off and then you can go find parking.

Restroom sink was very slow draining and the shower was not good water would get hot hot then vol cold not good
It is a great location to the Alamo and the River Walk. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great history and old school comfortable decor. Not the usual sterile IKEA like set up you see these days. The pool was lovely with towels and heated!
The lack of accessible plugs for charging our electronics (particularly next to the bed). A step up into the bathroom that might break a leg if you forget about it in the night. Room was small.

Beautiful HIstoric hotel , we like the decor and overall charm.
Our room was just ok, too small for the price, could not get good sleep because room was close to elevators and there was no isolation on the door you could here everything and everyone walking and talking,I paid for 2 king size bed rooms,my friends room was so much bigger, same price I paid ours was not worth the price,very disappointed. Parking too expensive 60 dollars, which was not mention in the hotel description......we stayed different hotels on River walk and I feel like this one is nice but not the best value for the money. Definitely not stay again.
