The breakfast was excellent
I stayed here with a large group of my family last week to attend a family funeral. The entire staff of the hotel from reception to bar/ restaurant and household are all extremely kind and helpful. Reception were so flexible with change of bookings and checking out a little later. The food was delicious and great to see such a varied menu. Including loads of local produce. Would highly recommend staaying of if staying in macroom.
Everyone was welcoming, friendly and extremely attentive. The room was very spacious with good clean facilities. Breakfast was fabulous with good freshly cooked options and an extensive buffet.
From stsrt to finish an exellent expreriece.Exellent help from lady at reception.Room 129 was very well fitted out and very spacious with a modern bathroom and shower.I attended a gig accross the road at The Riary Gap theatre and was late returning to hotel.Rang doorbel and met by the nightporter to let me in.Breskfast was from a menu and the young people serving were very professioal and well turned out inthere uniforms. One night exellent cudtomer servise good parking all top marks to the hotel.
Breakfast was great - plenty of options. The staff were superb, very welcoming!
Very impressed with this hotel . Great friendly staff in all departments , great bar food and the fastest check in ever !
The room was absolutely spotless considering we got the older looking twin room , couldn’t fault it , it was stacked with everything you need (kettle, iron and hair dryer) Breakfast was decent too , although i’d like more selection on the cold continental such as yogurts , smoothies , more fruit (would be nice ) but the hot food was very good. i’m not sure if it’s because the room was outdated or if all rooms are like it but a detachable shower head would be a nice addition .
Overall very happy with our stay , can’t beat it for the price , thanks a mill
Excellent hotel we had our laois camoige senior team stay and all 36 players and panel could not recommend highly enough excellent food and service would recommend for teams 10 stars.....

Sunday carvery poor. Cold food. End of meat hard bits for lamb. Small oortion for chickrn curry. All round poor. Thirs person is our family had salmon. Not good and cold. Staff were very frirndly though and helpful
The cafe in the hotel is really super for breakfast and lunch. I regularly grab my lunch there. Staff are really great to deal with.
We have been long-standing guests at The Castle Hotel, and every time we stay with them, it feels a little like home. There's a warm Irish welcome from the team on reception and nothing is every too much trouble.
The bedrooms are immaculately clean and they have recently had some improvements to the furnishings to make them a little more luxurious. Whilst the bathroom is immaculate and shower is wonderful, the bathrooms are in need of an update in comparison to other four star hotels.
That said, their breakfast takes some beating and their long-standing waitress is professional and friendly, always. As we we were having a family gathering, we also had a large party in the bar, which has a warmth about it the moment you enter. For those of you who may be looking for a nice meal, I can recommend the food in the bar also, and they have a fabulous cafe for tea and scones or lunch to the front of the hotel, which is extremely popular with locals alike because it serves delicious fare in pleasant surroundings. Although we don't avail of the other facilities usually, The Castle has a fantastic pool and gym, so it's ideal for families and those who like to keep up their fitness routine.
There's plenty of parking out the back too with an accessible ramp for those who may need it.
