That was the worst hotel shanty dump room i ever stayed in Mikindani Mombasa. Windows in the top floor are broken mosquitos are everywhere in the room i never slept at all and no one was there to help me.
Too much of dust in the bathroom and broken toilet need to be fixed.
The location of the hotel is scary and the surroundings is like slums u get scared of getting out of the property.
whatever that is written on the internet is a plain lie.
i will never recommend anyone to waste his money by going to cingaki hotel,
horrible horrible !!!
I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff. The location is close to the city centre.
The sink was very small. The bed linen seemed old.
The location is ideal if you have a flight or train to catch. The staff (Nancy, Nielsen, Tony) were very helpful and warm. The room was basic but clean and had most of the required necessities. The WiFi was fairly good when it worked. I took 2 video calls and managed fine. The team arranged a public shuttle to get me to the train station at 6am which only cost 250 khs.
There were a few brief power cuts which meant we lost wifi and ability to use the fan. The food options in the area are very limited. A top sheet should be provided on the bed (apparently an oversight or it could be requested). Street sweeping took place outside my window at 5am which woke me.
From arrival to departure there was nothing to fault.
The bed super comfy best nights sleep I have had in a while! The room was spotless making it easy for me to get comfortable nice touch with the balcony. The gentleman were very polite and helpful. . From arranging transport to the airport and giving me hot spot whilst the Internet was down. I highly recommend Cingaki hotel!
Everything was exceptional nothing to fault.
Green conserved environment
It is a hostel no air b n b. Didn't have kitchen and it's facilities.
Pas cher et efficace
L’eau pas chaude tiède
El sitio estaba muy limpio y cerca del aeropuerto
El baño, sin agua caliente y sin tapa del váter.
The staff were very friendly.
Simple gadgets like iron and electric kettle weren't available.
The toilet is separated from the room by means of a fabric curtain.
Big rooms and a nice terrace. Comfortable beds. In general, nice people working there. It is close to Mombasa airport. Breakfast (bananas, bread, butter, boiled eggs, milk, and tea) was pleasant.
The cleanliness of the room—especially the bathroom—could definitely be improved. However, this wasn’t the main issue for us. We arrived by taxi arranged by the hotel owner, but he didn’t inform us of the price beforehand. Upon arrival, we were suddenly surrounded by people, and the driver said they were helping with the luggage. Assuming they were part of the service, we paid them, thinking it was included in the transport arrangement. When we got to the hotel, we also paid the driver €20, but he claimed it wasn’t enough. We explained that we had already given €20 to the others, and he replied that he didn’t know who they were—he had essentially allowed strangers to handle our luggage. Later, I received a private message from the hotel owner saying that the driver was disappointed with the payment. I replied that they should have told us the amount in advance so we could agree on a price—especially since the driver never mentioned one and just threw out a number. Later on, we went to a restaurant for takeaway, accompanied by someone from the hotel. As we ordered, the prices kept changing and increasing. We asked for a breakdown of the individual prices (to compare with what we were told initially), but the situation became chaotic, with the waitress speaking privately into the ear of the person from the hotel. In the end, we didn’t want to argue—since we were tired—but this is not how guests should be treated. The owner seems like a good person, and we had never had any issues with him personally. But he should be more on top of things. Overall, we didn’t feel welcome at all. We definitely won’t be returning.
Near airport.
I was bitten by mosquitoes due to torn nets. I had to walk alone midnight looking for mosquito coils to light. They don't have any meals.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also serve testy breakfast.
The place is located close to the airport, so it is good for short stay.
The staff very friendly, the guy organized the dinner delivered at the hotel, parking inside, the room was good with a little terrace
very friendly and helpful staff
not able to pay by credit card
Quiet place next to school building, outskirt of Mombasa, far from city center but close to airport and Nairobi train station, fast WiFi
Hot in the room at night despite ceiling fan. Mosquitoes as night despite mosquito net
The staff are exceptionally welcoming, warm, and attentive.
Rooms are maintained with a commendable level of cleanliness.
Very affordable pricing.
The hotel is located quite a distance from the city center and is not particularly close to the airport.
Despite requesting an airport transfer for a late-night arrival, no arrangements were made. The staff member named Nelson handling the request appeared to have shifted duties without confirming the arrangement, which resulted in a challenging arrival at 1:30 am in an unfamiliar city—a lapse in professionalism and service reliability.
The washroom lacks sufficient space and does not have a door, causing water to scatter into the room during showers. Additionally, the drainage system could be improved.
Rooms lack air conditioning, and those on the upper floors become uncomfortably hot during the day and are not adequately cooled at night. The fan provided often falls short, impacting the overall comfort of the stay.
