Akroma Plaza

The room flooded during rain, telephone was not working, customer service was very poor.

Shower was very bad, in fact, my stay there was terrible.

I don’t like anything about this hotel
Their towels are all old
The rails in the Shower area are broken
My room wasn’t even cleaned for 3 days of my stay

Nice hotel at an affordable price in Takoradi.

The place was adequate when considering the price. Nothing more. The breakfast buffet was comically inadequate, almost an insult. Almost no food, only instant coffee, no cups prepared, all juice and fruit was gone. Pass on the breakfast here and get it somewhere else.

It’s a nice hotel but mosquitoes made my stay unpleasant

I don’t know much about the actual hotel as I stayed at the Best Western in Takoradi. However, having spent the entire day touring Cape Coast and Elmina and not finding any suitable restaurant, I came back to Takoradi disappointed that I couldn’t have any local food. Eventually, this restaurant was recommended and I have to say, I was NOT disappointed. The waiters were so polite. Food came in fast and mine oh mine! The fufu and goat soup was amazing! That’s the kind of welcome back home I needed but didn’t deserve. My friend ordered banku and okro stew. I don’t know much about the other stuff on the menu but those two menu items rocked! Rocked so much, I gave a hefty tip to both the waitress and the chef.

Well, my first night I went out for dinner and came back to akroma around 8pm
I had a swim and the went to the bar for a midnight cap.
Asked for a single whiskey with a glass full of ice....
They had no ice... I ignored it and asked for a glass of red wine which was delightful..

The next day off to work, came back around 3pm and saw my room has not been cleaned...
I went to reception and asked why my room has not been cleaned they told me" you did not leave your key sir"
No one informed me to leave your key when you go out for. The day, but anyway I left it there.... Again....
That night I ordered a pizza....
After 1hour and 30 min I phoned the reception (because the restaurant number in the menu/instructions does not work) they told me they tried to phone me and tell me there's no ham in the restaurant for the pizza.
So then I figured out my phone does not ring.
After I told them to leave the ham and just bring me the vegetarian pizza, And salt and pepper another 45 minutes passed.
Eventually the pizza came.... With no salt and pepper whatsoever....
I just left it.... Again....
The following day...
I actually bought a new Huawei cellphone, brand new in a box, and as all of you know it comes with a charger and new earphones. So we came back to the hotel and myself and my colleague went out for dinner and as I had 2 x phones... 1 new phone and my old crack screen phone,,, I gave my old earphones to my colleague. As I had a brand new set waiting for me at the hotel.
Upon my arrival the hotel, I went for a shower and got into bed... I THEN SEARCH FOR MY NEW EARPHONES IN MY NEW CELLULAR PHONE BOX AND IT WAS GONE.....
after turning my room upside down I actually realized it was taken from the box.
The last person in my room was the laundry guy(who has spare keys but God forbid don't take your keys to the office they will not clean your room)
I'm not pointing any fingers
But when I phoned reception I was treated like I was a crazy person and the receptionist refused to give me her name.
I walked down and asked for her name and it's probably the worst response I ever had and she removed her name tag.

I have traveled all over Africa in the last 10 years and honestly Akroma plaze is the Worst place I have ever stayed in being a honest working expat in Africa.
