Pros:

Friendly, helpful staff. We needed to store some purchases and they were very helpful with that, and with loading the taxi when it was time to leave. I appreciated the historic displays in the lobby which were captioned in both Spanish and English. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. The wait staff was attentive. The breakfast area was bright and cheerful. The room was small, but it was clean, the linens were fresh, and the housekeeping staff were extremely helpful when I needed emergency help with something. The in-room coffee was exceptionally smooth and delicious. I liked the areas where the historic character of the Hotel were maintained, such as the lovely floors, and the doors to the rooms.

Cons:

I have very few complaints. There were a few areas where tile was chipped, but I imagine maintaining a historic property is an ongoing effort. In no place was this a problem in terms of sanitation or safety.

Pros:

This hotel is very nice. It is an older property, so please do not expect shiny new rooms. But it is comfortable, and the location in the historical center is stunning. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to enjoy Veracruz.
