We had a wonderful overnight and day...the B&B is licated in a very SAFE part of Santiago...the owner Francesco is a very gracious and accommodating host making sure everything you need is available for you including filtered water...my sister and i had a twin room with our own private bath...there is secure wifi and Francesco prepares a lovely breakfast with homemade breads and jams...Francesco took us on a short walk to aquaint us with the area of parks, quaint cafes, and a convenience store....the homes in the area are beautiful from the 1920s with lovely gardens. Location is wonderfully close to the metro which we used to see the historical plaza area. Next to the metro is the Museum of Memory and Human Rights which we spent over 2 hours learning about the Pinochet era in Chile. Since our flight didnt leave til evening we were able to spend time in conversation with our host about today's Chile. Overall I rate our accommodations and experience to be the best and only wish we had an extra day or 2 to explore Santiago more.
Very unique. Loved the location, close to the Human Rights museum and the Natural History Museum. An easy walk to the downtown area. Barrio Yungay has an eclectic feel and great restaurants. We recommend Zarita and the owner recommended having the Lomo Saltado there. It was excellent.
