Okay, but not what I was expecting for a 5 star hotel
Pros:

The buffet breakfast was great.

Cons:

There was rubbish from a previous guest in our bin
View wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Close to the rooftops below. Sun in the afternoon straight onto balcony, couldn't sit out and enjoy.

I am extremely disappointed with the handling of our severe allergies during our recent stay.

When booking through Booking.com, I clearly noted our severe allergies and also followed up with a message directly to the hotel. Unfortunately, this information was not acknowledged. Upon arrival, staff were unaware of any allergies and advised that because we booked via Booking.com, they had not received any details. This was despite my confirmation that I had sent a message.

The situation escalated when the manager was called. He stated he was unsure whether items in the minibar contained our allergens and had to go and check. When we were eventually given a room, it was incorrectly set up. After returning to reception to resolve this, the manager appeared dismissive, rolling his eyes and saying it would “only take 10 minutes” to fix.

We were then moved to another room, however the hotel sent a complimentary gift of wine and chocolates — which unfortunately contained the very allergens we had flagged as severe.

To make matters worse, at breakfast in the Lobby Lounge, we again clearly communicated our allergies. We were reassured the food was safe, but when we double-checked due to the seriousness of the allergy, the waiter seemed unsure and had to reconfirm.

Overall, the experience was extremely concerning. A lack of communication, awareness, and care around severe allergies is not only disappointing but potentially dangerous.
