変わらない素晴らしさ!朝食も豪華!日本蕎麦があり美味しかったす。
Pros:

7、8年振りに宿泊しました。
15、10年前は為替も良く、物価高騰前でしたから、5、6回は宿泊していますが、サトーンエリアで、あれだけの素晴らしい庭や、大きなプール、そしてサービス、やはり最高でした!

Cons:

特にありません。
スタッフもフレンドリーです。
多少は高いですが、それなりの素晴らしい滞在が出来ます。しかし近くの駅までは、2路線ありますが、8分から10分は歩いたでしょうか。。

Unforgettable Easter afternoon tea
Pros:

The Easter Chocolate Buffet was definitely value for money esp with the Eatigo offer. The ambience is cozy and the staff members Am, Nong, and Nadia are attentive. Apart from the rich chocolate drinks and desserts, the restaurant serves high quality sushi and sashimi too! A hidden gem in the city centre!

A Tranquil Bangkok Oasis That Keeps Getting Better
Pros:

We recently spent three nights in a Club Room at The Sukhothai Bangkok, returning for the first time since our stay in July 2019 (pre Covid). From the moment we arrived, we were reminded why we loved this hotel back then – and why it has now firmly cemented itself as our favorite luxury hotel not just in Bangkok, but globally.

Effortless Club check in & warm welcome
Check in was handled in the exclusive Club Lounge in the Club Wing, which immediately set a calm and refined tone. We were invited to sit and relax while the team quietly took care of the formalities. A delicious welcome drink was served, and we were shown the impressive afternoon tea buffet that was already underway. The whole process felt smooth, personal, and unhurried – just as we remembered from 2019. It was particularly pleasing to see that the service levels, and even many of the staff, remain exceptional.

Once check in was complete, we were escorted to our two Club Rooms (for four people). Along the way, and again in the room, the staff clearly explained the various room features and the Club benefits, including the complimentary laundry service for select items (from memory, two items per stay – best to confirm directly with the hotel).

Spacious, thoughtfully designed Club Rooms
The Club Rooms are noticeably larger than a standard hotel room and are extremely well equipped. One standout feature is the wooden shutter-style window covering, which blocks out all morning light and makes it wonderfully easy to sleep in. The king bed is incredibly comfortable, and the bed linens feel luxurious and soft.

The bathroom is generous in size, with adjustable lighting and two deep his-and-hers sinks which help keep water from splashing everywhere. Amenities are high quality, plentiful, and were replenished daily without us ever needing to ask.

Exceptional Club Lounge food & drinks
The Club Lounge easily ranks among the best we’ve experienced. Each evening there was a different themed buffet, and all three nights were outstanding in both quality and variety:

• Night 1: Italian – a great selection of Italian delicacies, beautifully presented
• Night 2: Indian – rich, flavorful dishes with excellent spice balance
• Night 3: Chinese – again, a wide range of well-executed options

The wine selection was very good, and there was a strong range of other alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, including cocktails and mocktails. Service in the lounge was consistently attentive, yet never intrusive.

Breakfast: the best we’ve had in Bangkok
Breakfast at The Sukhothai is, quite simply, one of the best we’ve ever had anywhere, and certainly our favorite in Bangkok. The spread is extensive and beautifully curated, with Western, Japanese, and Thai options – truly something for everyone.

Highlights for us included:
• The freshly blended juices made to order and brought to your table
• Eggs cooked to your exact preference
• A remarkable variety of both hot and cold dishes
• The beef patties, which were my absolute favorite

A special mention must go to Executive Chef Joachim Textor. He is not only clearly talented, but also incredibly engaging and personable. He took the time to chat with us about the hotel’s food and beverage philosophy, and even about life more broadly. His passion is evident, and he is a real asset to the property.

Poolside service, gardens, and facilities
The hotel grounds are beautiful, with manicured gardens and tranquil spaces that create a true “oasis in the city” feeling. Our photos capture some of this, including a lovely Easter bunny and chocolate egg setup that added a charming seasonal touch.

By the pool, service was once again efficient and thoughtful. We ordered two beef burgers and fries, which arrived at our cabana within about 20 minutes – piping hot, well presented, and very tasty. Throughout our time poolside, the staff regularly refilled our glasses with orange infused water, without us ever needing to ask.

We did not have treatments at the Spa or use the Gym on this trip, but we did tour both. The Spa looks to be among the best in Bangkok – serene, beautifully designed, and very well appointed. The Gym is spacious and extremely well equipped, including spa and sauna facilities. As elsewhere in the hotel, the staff were professional, friendly, and eager to help.

Why we prefer The Sukhothai over the “best”
We have previously stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, which is frequently rated as the best hotel in Thailand. While it is undoubtedly an excellent property, we personally feel that The Sukhothai offers a more serene, oasis like atmosphere and a more consistently warm, personalized style of service. For us, this stay has confirmed The Sukhothai as our preferred luxury hotel not only in Bangkok, but worldwide.

Final thoughts
Our return visit, after several years away, could easily have suffered by comparison with our fond memories from 2019. Instead, The Sukhothai has not only maintained its extremely high standards but, in many ways, surpassed them. It was a truly special experience from start to finish, and we are already planning our next stay.

Five stars, without hesitation – and very much looking forward to returning soon.
