Convenient
The room was a good size, the location on the river gave exceptional views and it was great the hotel had its own car park. To be able to eat the excellent breakfast outside and very close to the river was a bonus.
Really can find nothing to mention here
Bedroom and bed mattress were very good. Location is excellent and staff helpful
No bar at top of hotel to make use of view. Breakfast was ok. Coffee could be better not normal Ozzie standard

My wife and I have just completed a four night stay at the Stanford Plaza Hotel in Brisbane. The location was awesome but that's where the good part ends. We returned due to the most wonderful stay we had there some years ago. I don't know what has occurred in the prevailing years but this hotel can no longer be classed as a five-star hotel in our very humble opinion. In fact, its far from any 5 star hotel. My initial enquiry was via email and when I questioned about parking I was informed parking was via a parking station some 250 metres from the Hotel. This proved to be totally wrong with parking available at the hotel itself. Our suite while comfortable was showing signs of neglect and ageing. The water pressure in the shower was abysmal with the shower head working spasmodically. Wallpaper was separating and the lounge has passed its use by date with various marks, some substantial. There is no cafe, lounge or bar other than the Le Boca restaurant. Its certainly not conducive to sitting down and having a quiet conversation while enjoying a drink. The restaurant turns into the breakfast area of a morning. It was very clear to us that there is way insufficient staff to cope with the workload. Trying to get served to get a cappuccino was almost impossible. Speaking of the breakfast area it is dirty and if you don't wish to be turned off your food dont look at the ceiling. The air con ducts and ceiling are filthy and covered in dust and it appears the area is in need of a serious make over. I have read other reviews in regard to the Ibis's (bin chickens) that are in the area. Seriously this is a major health hazard. From day 1 we watched as the birds walked on the tables, stole food left on the tables and at one point defecate on one of the tables. We refused to eat outside !!! Clearly you hotel has done little to alleviate this issue. In the four days we were there we only saw one staff member make any attempt to remove the birds. Trouble was, 5 minutes later the birds return. This is far far from 5 star hotel behaviour. The only saving grace for us in the area was David and a older lady (who's name I have forgotten) who were doing their absolute best to keep the visitors happy. The other staff appeared just not interested in anything and did not converse with customers or make any attempt to ensure everything was in order. The breakfast is just adequate and a fairly basic affair and is far from what you get at a true five star hotel. My final disappointment was on the final day when I tried the pancakes. They were cold and like rubber. I had two bites and left the rest. I truly regret having to be so negative in this review but it was that disappointing and even more sadly not the old Stamford we once loved. I have attached photos of some of what we witnessed.
