Felt a little like a hotel living off it's past glories, probably quite exclusive with full amenities but looking a bit old and tired and in need of a refurb.
This was booked for us by a travel agent so didn't compare prices elsewhere, also we were only stopping over but wouldn't have been happy if we were staying longer. In total we stayed three nights. Quick pointer|:
Gym is small but pretty well equipped
Pool and jacuzzi is a bit tired but large enough
Breakfast is not very good, usual fare but... Coffees bad, bircher too sweet, eggs on platter looked like they had been there a while, pastries reheated from frozen and not good... I could go on but you get the picture. Even the outside seating area felt old and unclean, they use it for the restaurant in the evenings too. Felt understaffed too, lots of dirty tables and one poor waiter running around trying to do everything.
Rooms are old, a bit dusty, and definitely in need of a refurb. The view is pretty spectacular though.
Reception service felt, with some people, a bit too abrupt at times.
Again I haven't checked other hotel prices but a quick check on the Stamfords website said around 200AUS per room per night and as we had two rooms this was costing us 400 AUS plus 28AUS for breakfast so just over 500AUS per night which didn't feel like value to me.

Excellent place,
Nothing i paid for the grand plaza suite and didnt get my room
I didnt get too stay
We booked a Storey Bridge Suite and it was sensational. Lovely suite, awesome view
The breakfast is advertised as going till 10am and we were there at 9am. Had to ask for several food items to be replenished.
Great view and location .
Had a lovely and quiet stay there for 2 nights
Walking distance to ferry piers , cafes and restaurants
The room size was great. The view and location were also great.
I arranged for a 2:00 pm check-in but wasn't able to get into the room until 3:15 pm. A complimentary drink was offered, which I had. When I was finally given the key to the room, the staff offered to send up a bottle of wine, which I accepted. The wine did not arrive.
I had arranged for the room to be set up as a twin share, but when I finally got to the room, it was set up as a queen-sized bed. I had to arrange for this to be split apart.
I set the air conditioning to 23 degrees when I got in the room because it was set to 19 degrees. After 2.5 hours, the temperature hadn't risen. I called maintenance, and they told me to just turn off the air conditioning if I was cold because they did not have a technician available.
I was disappointed with my stay.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, and our room was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the river. Overall, a great experience.
The room - 1904 - was lovely, comfortable, clean, with good hot water and quiet. The view was excellent and the design was well thought out.
We arrived at 11am and front desk was going to call us when room was ready. that never happened. To ring for assistance, we had to dial out. Pillows were awful and more were needed.
The concierge was nonexistent. As a Hotelier I suggest never have an unmanned desk. Move concierge to right side of front desk. Teach them how to answer phones.
Exceptional stay. Faultless from start to finish. The room service and TV in the bath was a particular highlight.
Great 3 night stay, meals were good, staff were friendly, had good view of river and story bridge
We recently stayed at Stamford Plaza Brisbane and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is absolutely perfect, with beautiful river views and easy access to the city. We were especially impressed by the stunning view from our suite, which made the stay feel extra special.
The service throughout the hotel was warm, professional, and attentive, and every staff member we encountered made us feel genuinely welcomed.
We also had the pleasure of dining at both La Boca and Kabuki during our stay. Both restaurants were fantastic — delicious food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. Kabuki was particularly entertaining and memorable, while La Boca offered an amazing dining experience with beautiful flavours and presentation.
Overall, a truly enjoyable stay and we would happily return again. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Brisbane!
