Ramada by Wyndham Rome - Verona

When we arrived at the hotel on our bicycles, the hotel looked abandoned. The outside was clad in cracked battleship grey stucco and weeds. Interior signage was damaged. The windows-- someone needs to discover what Windex is. We noticed the Denny's Restaurant prominently shown in the photos has long vacated this property. A nice "For Rent" sign flanked by patches of weeds next to the flagship Ramada sign might as well have been a giant red flag. The photos on the website are GROSS misrepresentations. Spend more time cleaning, and less time mastering PhotoShop. The desk attendant put our bikes in the balmy defunct Denny's. This hotel is filthy. I cannot emphasize this enough. A rodent trap greeted us as we began our trek to our assigned room--I kid you not! Ceilings leaked puddles onto shopworn concrete floors. Chipped paint and tattered curtains abounding! Dead bugs lined the path. When we opened the grimy glass door to the section where our room was (RM 153), the stench overtook us. We recoiled in disgust! It was some kind of pine air freshener chemical that was so overpowering, it gave us migraine headaches. We got into the room we tried to overlook the grime, and took a shower. Remember, we had just biked 40 miles. To collect our thoughts and escape the stinking pine gas chamber, we went to regain some strength with a meal at the pizza parlor across the street. When we got back into the room, we noticed quite a bit. We an overlook dust, dirt, chipped formica, and even some nasty cracked lamp shades--but not FILTH. The room had NOT been cleaned. What did we find? stains on the shower curtains AND in the tub itself, broken shampoo bottles, black mold along the bathroom floor, pubic hairs on the toilet, gunk on the soap dispenser, grime on the metal surfaces (what WAS this?). Even parts of the toilet were in the middle of the bathroom. But it got more egregious as we went into the room. We found a bug infested upholstered chair. That's where I lost it! There were maybe a few hundred nymph bug casings and some black bugs. How about some mouse turds along the baseboards, and some plant fibers, and a pen cap. It's not like the staff here had to LOOK for dirt--they just chose to ignore it. All of it! Then there is that unbearable stink! Evidently, this hotel takes in the homeless via some voucher program--that's the Ramada's reputation in town. We left soon after we checked in. We booked through Chase Travel and attempted to obtain a refund and were denied, because the property owner said we used the shower. If a restaurant served you a steak and while eating it you found a roach underneath it, would you expect to pay for it? Same logic here! I am demanding a refund. I swear if Ramada does not do the right thing and refund us, I will have the health department, city inspectors, and local news station descend on this dump like a swarm of hornets. I'll be happy to supply them with a list of violations. Try me! UPDATE: I submitted this review on another site, and Wyndham refused to do anything about this stay--and they never responded to the review. Wyndham appears to respond to reviews on TripAdvisor. So here goes. Wyndham, I'd like a refund.

Room had filthy floor, cobwebs and dead bugs. Saw rat trap in office when checking out. Very apparent room was not cleaned or floor washed for some time. Hopefully they make improvements soon! We reported to corporate customer service.

That they had a vacancy.

Bathroom wasnt very clean, water knobs on the tub were loose and water seemed to be pouring into the bottom of the liner of the tub so it was like stepping on a big water balloon while trying to shower and not fall. The guest next to my room were up until 430am partying all night. The beds were hard as a rock. This definitely wasnt a very good experience. I wont be staying here again.

Very disappointed in this place, very funky, alot of dirt and stuff on the floor and bathroom dirty, felt very unsafe and worried about my car. The reviews are true, would not recommend this place.

I would not stay here ever again. If I wasn’t so tired and had any other choice I would have left right when I shut the motel door. That’s when I noticed the safety door lock was broken and one of the hinges. The tub faucet leaked all night long. (I never used the tub, like that on arrival). The room was supposed to be non-smoking and it wreaked if smoke.

The hotel itself does not match the pictures of the room. It is very rundown. The bathroom shower had hairballs on the shower wall upon check-in. The "lobby" smells like mildew. The stairs to our room (no elevator I am aware of) smells like mildew.
We tried to book a different hotel at an additional cost, but everything in the area was booked. The officer in the parking lot told us "well, we don't get too many calls here, you should be alright". Should have realized the $100/night was a hint.

We booked a room at this motel through a third party site. When we arrived we immediately noticed a large “For Lease” sign on the side of the building and a large group of people standing next to it that appeared to be “homeless.” Then we saw the “no trespassing “ sign posted next to the door. Not feeling safe getting out of our car we left and stayed elsewhere. We contacted the third party we booked the room through and they reached out to the motel who “refused our request for cancelation.” After reading the horrible reviews of this motel (should have read them before we booked our stay,) we are thankful we didn’t go inside. Not sure why they are allowed to continue renting out rooms.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was not friendly or happy at all. There were police out front and out back of the hotel handling seperate situations. Nice hot water. Bed a bit hard but great pillows. Noisy metal beds sounded like those cheap metal bunkbeds whenever you move.

The room was nicely decorated but the TV didn't work and the pool was closed (not that I would have gone swimming anyway). Bed and pillows were very good. Bathroom was pretty old and haggard, but the shower was fantastic! Other guests (sadly right above me) were awful and were making all kinds of noise, yelling, stomping and arguing at 4am. That was the biggest negative.

Loud and smelly air conditioning

I would never book this hotel again. As soon as my kids took off their shoes less than five minutes later the bottom of their foot was black went to go take a shower. The water filled up the tub in seconds and we’re just beating in that black dirt from the floors. The service was terrible. She had nothing to make stay comfortable, no towels, no sheets no nothing seem like she didn’t even wanna do anything

My daughter and I had concert tickets for a show a mile or two away. The day OF the show, this dump called and told me they couldn't give us a room. Fifth rate business. They couldn't even have en English speaking person call.....rather, they outsourced the "service" call to some overseas company. Complete joke. I will NEVER give my money to this hotel chain the rest of my traveling day. Huge thumbs down.
