Wonderful time in Fukuoka at the Grand Hyatt.
Pros:

Great hotel with wonderful staff. We stayed in a 1 b suite and it was wonderful. The hotel made note there were 3 in our party and there were amenities for 3 throughout the room. Great location also. Xavier the concierge was very helpful also.

Needs a renovation
Pros:

The hotel is quite old and dated. We had to switch out of our original room since the smoke and mold smell was so strong. It just felt dirty walking in there. We were switched to a different room, which was better. But the next room had an issue where some lights couldn’t be turned off. So trying to sleep with the lights on was not fun. Customer service was always responsive and apologetic. I just think the hotel probably is in need of a massive renovation. The club lounge was nice and renovated though. The salt bread there was some of the best I’ve ever had.

Rooms need improvement!
Pros:

Excellent location, breakfast was very good, room was tired and bed was too small ( hard too) for normal couple….pillows were not great too!

Cons:

건물이 오래 되다 보니 화장실이 변기에서 우러 나오는 냄새가 좀 불쾌 했습니다
작년에 또 또 금년에도 이 호텔을 이용 했지만 그때도 화장실에서 냄새가 불쾌 했습니다
같이간 다른 일행의 방에도 같은 문제점이 있었습니다 개선이 필요합니다

A good experience and a good guy out the bad cleanliness.
Pros:

The Good: I found the toilet was not cleaned properly: there is a strange stain on the toilet seat. Mukai-san came with the toilet cleaning tools and began cleaning the toilet in his nice suits. I was very moved and wanted to compliment his professionalism and his dedication to Hyatt. The bad: The cleaning staff is doing a sub-par to Hyatt standard of cleanliness. I am surprised the supervisor who supposed to check on the cleaning result did not catch such a big stain. Another impression: The hotel is supposed to be renovated already but still has that tired look.

Excellent vacation experience
Pros:

My family and I spent 8 nights at the hotel.
The location is very convenient for shopping as it is connected with canal city mall.
The club room with lounge access was spacious, well stocked with amenities, clean and service provided by the staff were attentive and excellent.
I would like to highlight that Yukari- team lead for front service rooms
was most helpful as well as Tapy- Guest experience member who actively engaged us on a daily basis and made our stay a most interesting and memorable one.

EXCELLENT STAY!
Pros:

This hotel was our base for our travels around Kyushu. We stayed for 3 nights, traveled elsewhere, and returned for 3 nights again. We had an excellent stay and would love to stay here again in the future.
Pros:
Excellent staff – they were all so friendly and helpful. Japanese service “omotenashi” at it’s finest. There are not enough words to say how friendly and caring they were.
Excellent location – it’s about a 15 minute walk from Hakata Station. If you are carrying large suitcases, maybe a cab ride would be better. The hotel is connected to Canal City which is a great place to spend time as a couple or a family. Plenty of things to do there, including a fun water show every 30 minutes. Kirby Café, McDonalds, dessert shops, etc. located in this mall.
There is a small station called “Kushida Shrine Station” next to the hotel which will take you to the heart of Tenjin where all the action is at. Or you can walk there which will take 20 minutes.
There is an excellent laundromat nearby called Coin Laundry Virtue. Family Mart right across the street. Plenty of good places to eat nearby.
Spacious, clean room – you can request a view of either the city of the mall. Hot tub and rain fall shower head.
Spacious gym free of use and swimming pool. They have restrictions on kids using the pool, so check the hotel policy first.
Cons:
Some reviews mentioned the smoke smell. All rooms are non-smoking, but there are some floors that have designated smoking areas. If you are sensitive to it, be sure to request for a floor without any smoking areas. We stayed on the 9th and 7th floors and had no issues. However, during night, you can smell some smoke walking through the lobby. It seems there is a designated area in the basement level lounge level for smoking and that smell kind of lingers into the lobby. However, during our stay we did not face any major issues about it.
There are also some mentions about the room smelling of old wood, but we did not experience that.
This is a beautiful, grand hotel and we would love to stay here again in the future.

Clean room, old hotel, pricey
Pros:

Rooms are clean. Hotel is a bit old for its price. My room there is a spotlight that is faulty. Gym can be 24 hours aligned with other 5 stars hotel in Asia,
