The property was just
I asked for my room to be clean the floors to be mopped. They were filthy. I mopped the floor myself and sent it down to house cleaning, and they tried to give me a different story. I asked to speak with a manager who never contacted me. The first room they put me and had Cheerios on the floor glitter in the chair and the fan to the air conditioner would not shut off. The beds are hard as rocks.
The location is nice
Our room smelled terrible. There was some type of deodorant or air freshener that made the room uncomfortable. It was so strong and never went away.
Bathroom smelled like mildew. Very dated.
Very clean hotel. Great location.
The hotel is beginning to show wear. This could be a red flag. A five star hotel that lets basic maintenance slip could be a sign of financial insolvency.
Over $700 for one night, for a room billed as an “executive king” which was smaller than a dorm room. Paint bubbling, discolored and eroded in bathroom, tiles not matching, shower head loose in poorly cut hole, screws hanging on by a thread, overall hasty work patching issues. Kick rocks if you think you can check in a hour early, want to go to the bar before 5p? Not an option. Do want a random guest leaning on your “balcony space” chilling directly outside your room window? They’ve got that. How about a packed house for weddings and guests screaming till 1am? They have that too.
Trust me, I’ve stayed at way worse, but for the price you would expect, among other things, your towels to not, overwhelmingly, smell of bleach. (I guess they’re clean though right.) This place deserves better. So do you. If you can get it for $200 a night; sure, that makes sense, the location is simply ideal. Anything more though in terms of price, enter with zero expectations and you won’t be disappointed.
Location
Restaurant open past 8:00 pm. Arrived hungry and struggled to find open restaurant nearby. No room service available either. No microwave in room.
Location
Dated
Location was fantastic
Beds were not comfortable. Only decaf coffee in the fridge room
Gute Lage, schöner Ort Los Gatos.
Das Zimmer war den Preis leider nicht wert. Dreckige Wand und Teppich. Müsste insgesamt renoviert werden.
Location, large rooms, peaceful
Dated, restaurant/bar closed but I think applying for full license. When it did open very friendly woman working the bar.
Good location. Los gatos is a lovely town
I (female) and my colleague (also female) stayed here during a work trip. The hotel put us on separate floors (going forward I will request neighbouring rooms). On the third night of our stay my colleague was going back to her room at 10pm when confronted with a nude man in the corridor. He followed her to her room and tried to open her door behind her. After unsuccessfully trying her door and the doors next to her, he pushed a $20 dollar bill under her door.
My colleague rang reception. Reception did not phone the police, they offered 1. Her to move rooms and 2. To move which floor this man was staying on. (So potentially onto a floor with other single women). This man was allowed to stay at the hotel for the rest of the night. The next morning we were told it was ok because his reservation was for only one night so he had now checked out and was banned from the hotel.
To be honest this was a terrible experience and the hotels response concerns me. After we pushed them to they did raise a police report on our behalf (we are not from the USA and were due to leave in a few days). However this story could have gone a lot lot worse.
Additionally I found my balcony door (second floor room) left unlocked after the cleaners had been.
Additionally our rooms were only cleaned once during our stay
Perfect location for our needs in the San Jose area. We always stay at the Toll House when we are visiting. Close to great restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
