Nude aggressor not removed from hotel after harassing my colleague
Pros:

Good location. Los gatos is a lovely town

Cons:

I (female) and my colleague (also female) stayed here during a work trip. The hotel put us on separate floors (going forward I will request neighbouring rooms). On the third night of our stay my colleague was going back to her room at 10pm when confronted with a nude man in the corridor. He followed her to her room and tried to open her door behind her. After unsuccessfully trying her door and the doors next to her, he pushed a $20 dollar bill under her door.

My colleague rang reception. Reception did not phone the police, they offered 1. Her to move rooms and 2. To move which floor this man was staying on. (So potentially onto a floor with other single women). This man was allowed to stay at the hotel for the rest of the night. The next morning we were told it was ok because his reservation was for only one night so he had now checked out and was banned from the hotel.

To be honest this was a terrible experience and the hotels response concerns me. After we pushed them to they did raise a police report on our behalf (we are not from the USA and were due to leave in a few days). However this story could have gone a lot lot worse.

Additionally I found my balcony door (second floor room) left unlocked after the cleaners had been.

Additionally our rooms were only cleaned once during our stay

Location
Pros:

Perfect location for our needs in the San Jose area. We always stay at the Toll House when we are visiting. Close to great restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

Overpriced tiny room
Pros:

We booked a Premier King for $512.10 and it was the smallest king room I have ever had. The window heater reminded me of a motel 6. It was clean, the bathroom was nice, staff was all nice.

One of the best if not the best
Pros:

I constantly travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe for business. And every time my schedule brings me back to the toll house in Los Gatos. I can’t help, but feel some excitement to see the staff of which I consider friends. The room is always perfectly made and clean, and I don’t know what type of mattress it is, but I always get the best night. Sleep there for some reason don’t delay make a reservation. I’m sure I’ll see you there soon.

Not up to Los Gatos standards
Pros:

The location is outstanding but the hotel needs a serious renovation. The hours of the on-site restaurant are so limited that it is hardly an amenity for guest use. If you are coming to enjoy the adorable Los Gatos, choose somewhere else to compliment your stay.

The hotel met my expectations.
Pros:

Cons:

Air conditioners were too loud. Not only the air conditioner in my room but you could here other rooms as well.

Anniversary weekend
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at the Toll House hotel. I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and they had the room set up with a bottle of wine, wine glasses and a heart on the bed made out of rose petals. It was above and beyond! The room was clean, and the hotel is walking distance to the park, trail, shops and all of the best restaurants. We will be back!

It was understaffed, but the staff that was there was very kind and welcoming and accommodating.

Cons:

I think the beds were extremely old. There was stains everywhere in the room. The furniture was very old. Everything just seemed old and outdated. The restaurant inside the facility was not even open.

Lack of customer service!
Pros:

A total lack of customer care by not informing us that the streets at their location would be completely closed on day of our arrival. A local holiday parade , clearly scheduled far in advance blocking all access to the property! We had no choice but to walk a half mile- with our luggage. Unacceptable lack of attention to customer and overall satisfaction.! The smallest effort to inform us would have solved the issue.

Perfect Getaway Spot
Pros:

The Toll House Hotel is a perfect hotel in the quaintest CA town! It is the perfect getaway spot for a girls weekend - we hiked, shopped, when to the beach, and spent such great time together. The hotel is perfect and had plenty of spaces for us to just gather together. The staff is amazing, and made our stay so easy!!

Located at very end of Downtown Los Gatos. Restaurants within walking., which you'll need because you cannot count on hotel restaurant being open. Chose for location but no warm & fuzzies here.
