The price was right.

Cons:

There was no mention of having to pay for parking on the site I booked with. I'm not sure why I did pay. It's an open parking lot with plenty of parking on the street in front of the hotel. I should have just parked there and saved money. I feel like it was a scam that I fell for. I could see if the parking was closed off. Or if there was someone monitoring the lot. But there wasn't. Also, if you stay out late... you have to wait for someone to buzz you in. Yep... that's right, your key card won't let you in. We literally banged on the glass as we could see a woman at the front desk ignore us. Once more people started to arrive, that's when she buzzed us in.

Nice hotel but could use a little update
Pros:

The staff was great, attentive and answered all of my questions. Check in and check out went smoothly. The room had a nice view to the water, although I didn't love being over the pool/hot tub area because I could here people there (they were not disruptive or loud but I can imagine it can get very noisy during summer months or good weather). The hotel itself is a nice big property and has nice amenities, even when the highway is just outside (not very nice but convenient). The breakfast had variety and I LOVED that they had water and coffee stations available all the time.

Cons:

The hotel is dated and the rooms could use a refresh in the carpet and bathroom. The shower seemed to be "clean" but not sure if as per my standards (or maybe it was looking a bit dirty because it is old). As I was there for only 1 night I decided not to use it. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. The heating worked well but the smell was not so nice (not horrible but it was an older machine). The balcony was small and had 2 chairs, which were ok, but it would have been nice to have a little table or some sort of platform to put a drink or book or food on it. The bar closed before the posted hours and I was informed that when there was not a lot of people they close early (would have loved to know that in advance)

Waterside Room!
Pros:

Best Place To Stay In Oakland
Pros:

One of my favorite places to stay when I'm in Oakland. Rooms are very comfortable and its located in a very safe neighborhood. Staff is always warm and helpful, Kim and Luis always go out of the way to make sure your stay is perfect and seamless. The complimentary breakfast is a nice added feature and they also have afternoon paid meal options. I highly recommend staying here if you plan on a trip to the bay area

Friendly, helpful staff! Excellent hotel!
Pros:

The staff and employees of this hotel take great care of their customers and pride in their jobs. I have been coming to this hotel to stay on business trips since 2023 and can say this is probably my favorite hotel that I stay at of the other locations I stay at for work. Enrique, the front desk man in the evenings is always super friendly and helpful when checking in or needing other amenities. I had a problem one time with getting into my room and the maintenance man was super quick to come to my room and help me get into my room. If you are looking for a place to stay on vacation, a place for business trips, or just a stop along the way on a long trip, Oakland Executive is an excellent hotel that I would recommend to anyone. Cheers!
