Red Roof Inn Clearfield

Was fine for a one night travel stay, but don’t think I would choose it again. You can tell they have tried to put the effort in with some updates in the rooms, but it’s the little things matter more sometimes. The super rough sheets, musty smell and no weather seal at all on the primary door, were all concerning for me.
The staff was wonderful and made me feel very welcome at both check in and out though.

Just what I wanted out of my stay! And the woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful.

Clean for sure. My old (probably 2008) TV did not work. Turned it on and had "welcome to candlewood suites" but blank. I tried my laptop on the HDMI no good. Very frustrating.

Hotel computer was down, so check in was not as smooth, though staff was accommodating. As a result of the computer problem, there was no WiFi in the room.
The room itself was fine, but the bathtub was not clean.
There were hundreds of channels on the TV, but no guide in the room to be able to tell what channel was connected to what network.

I didn't like that they charged me 200 for a room that was already destroyed

This hotel should definitely be shut down. All of the hotel information in expedia site are false. For example, it say free-wifi is provided, but the wifi never work at all. The hotel is the worst.

Was assigned a handicap room. Room had a funny smell Wife complained about room

They cancelled my reservation because they messed it up. So they had to rebook my room which was not the one I booked. I hope I don't get charged twice.

Good comfortable room before the PSU game the next day. Nothing too fancy, but a good value for the price and the on-premises bar was a nice touch!

It wasn’t awful. It was clean and the staff were nice. But the phone in the room didn’t work, the lamp next to the bed had been damaged and was not working. Our key cards stopped working twice. First time we couldn’t get in our room it was cause we turned the privacy lock on which was our fault. But the second time our cards just would not work so we were stuck going back to the front desk again in the cold and she couldn’t get it to work either and had to let us in with the management key. The faucet in the bathroom tub was almost falling off the wall. Like I said it was clean and comfy beds is why we did stay. But the little things need to be fixed cause those add up.

Only disappointment was for the price, the Room should at least have a Microwave and Fridge.

The room was clean and comfortable. The property was run down and the hotel breakfast was sub par.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years and had booked through Expedia without problem. This trip however was problematic. My reservations were made and paid in full through Expedia prior to arrival using one credit card. I provided a different credit card for incidentals on arrival. I made no charges on that credit card and there was no damage to the room. The next month, there were two unauthorized charges to the credit card from Red Roof Inn Clearfield. I disputed the charges through my credit card company and the hotel apparently claimed they were valid charges – but they weren’t. Moreover, the hotel had my phone number so IF there had been some problem with the state of the room (there was not) or some other misunderstanding on their part, they could have contacted me - and they did not. I will not be staying at this hotel again after these fraudulent charges were made to my credit card. Its not a safe hotel. Stayers beware.

Non working phone and smoke alarm in room.peeled paints and cracks in all the walls, terrible small hard pillows. Only one towel hand towel and wash cloth given , when asked for more had to go get our selves, requested a blanket because they still had thin summer toppers with no comforters in the room , never got one. Bathroom is a disaster the knobs for tub didn’t work, toilet not anchored and shower head pulled out of wall. Bathroom door would shut unless you pulled up on it then shoved it. Attempted to talk to worker at front desk , was rude , made excuse they were only one there when consistently saw a young person and another woman behind the desk then was brushed off and sarcastically told have a nice day. We will never recommend.

we stopped over at this location on a long commute. checked in in the middle of the night and the associate was very courteous at the front desk. the room was cozy cause it was carpeted and the water pressure and heat was outstanding. there was coffee and quick grab breakfast in the lobby. thank you for a good quick stay.

Clean and safe. Great restaurant connected with good food and entertainment
