The Pool and Hot Tub will be closed for renovations and improvements from Jan 5th to Feb 5th, from Feb 5th to Feb 12th the Hot Tub will not be heated above 95 degrees. After the 12th both Hot Tub and Pool are back to opening hours of 8am to 10pm daily.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Relax and unwind
Pros:

This is our third year in a row vacationing in San Diego at the Pacific Terrace. We Absolutely love our stay here not only for the wonderful hotel , but because the staff makes sure your stay is the absolute best. The room service and the food is an absolute Delight !

Best hotel in La Jolla
Pros:

Pacific Terrace Hotel is the only hotel I go to anymore I'm in La Jolla or San Diego. It's beautiful and start on the ocean. The rooms are also lovely I've been there many times

Anniversary trip
Pros:

My husband and I recently took an anniversary trip to the Pacific Terrace Hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back, though I would likely request a different room next time.
We booked a partial ocean view room and were placed on the first floor, which I expected and was fine with. However, on Friday night, our view—and the smell—was impacted by the grill being used for the Fire Dance Friday event. While we could still see the fire dancer, the grill was directly in our line of sight and became the main focus. The smoke and food odors were a bit of a nuisance, though only for that one evening.
Aside from that, we had a great experience. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but they called us as soon as it was available and even placed our luggage in the room, so we only had to stop by the front desk to pick up our keys.
Friday nights view/smell was truly our only complaint. I would absolutely stay here again, but next time I may request a room on a higher floor or consider booking a different room type.

While I enjoyed my stay overall, I would like to suggest better supervision of the pool and hot tub areas. During my visit, several guests were eating and drinking in the pool, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. I also noticed a lady entering the hot tub wearing shorts and a shirt. Having a staff member regularly monitor these areas and ensure that pool and hot tub rules are followed would help maintain cleanliness, safety, and a more enjoyable experience for all guests.

What a nice place
Pros:

I gotta say these was the nicest hotel staff I’ve encountered in a long time. Each one was nicer then the next. Every request was met with a smile. The whole weekend was excellent. Beds were quite comfortable, the pillows were divine. The cafe staff and bar staff was top notch. What super nice people. I would stay here every day for the rest of my life if I could. Thank you

A fun hotel right on the beach, but don’t expect quiet, privacy, or a decent restaurant.
Pros:

The location is fun, and very convenient to the beach. The staff is great. We really enjoyed the entertainment - a fire dancer and a steel drum duo and both were terrific!

Cons:

There is not really a restaurant, just some tables on the patio with food mostly take-out from a restaurant around the corner. The food was mostly greasy burgers and tacos. They prepared breakfast onsite, but everything I tried was swimming in grease. Our room location (partial ocean view?) was right behind the terrace, with all the noise and activity from the terrace cafe right outside our deck. The parking garage is small and difficult to navigate with an SUV.

Terrace Time!
Pros:

Once again, Pacific Terrace was terrific. We have been there numerous times and will keep coming back. The property has a fabulous view being right on Pacific Beach and the ambiance is excellent as well. Comfy beds waiting for us inside charming rooms/suites.
Each staff member we interacted with were very attentive and made sure we were happy and well taken care of.
The food and beverage offerings at the Terrace Cafe were top notch with a great selection for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
So, give them a try. You won’t be sorry.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a quick getaway at the Pacific Terrace Hotel, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Ashley, Matt, Colin, and Kailey were outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and memorable. Their friendly attitudes and exceptional customer service truly made a difference.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were some of the best we've had. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We also loved the activities available at the hotel. The activities coordinator made sure we were taken care of and got us set up with bikes so we could enjoy a ride along the boardwalk, which was one of the highlights of our trip. Between the amazing beachfront location, fantastic food and drinks, and the incredible staff, Pacific Terrace delivered the perfect San Diego escape. We can't wait to come back for another stay!
