Good location to get to the Stampede with the c train station close by.
Pros:

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful selection of breakfast items included in our stay. Close to c train station.

Cons:

Dark wall in our room and not enough light. Pillows were feather and hard. Asked for foam pillows and they were better. No sports bar within walking distance.

We would not choose this hotel again.
Pros:

The beds are comfortable and the staff is helpful. The rest is bad. The lobby, elevators, halls, rooms, and bath are all dark due to low dim lighting. Makes no sense. Our toilet was oddly mounted against the glass shower wall making it awkward to use. The shower has no horizontal surface so we had to put our personal shower products on the floor. The tv did not work and when the guy came up to fix it, the Netflix and Prime buttons still had error codes. The tv had a light on it that made us drape a towel over it to sleep. The vinyl window blackout blind is old and torn. The window needs a sheer blind because there is no privacy from the adjacent building, and the room would be dark if the blind was closed.

Fabulous staff, unique hotel and great stay
Pros:

Aloft review
We had a great stay at Aloft by Marriott Calgary University. Nice and easy to access from the highway and close to everything we needed. Jayma was super helpful upon checkin and graciously helped us solve an issue. All the staff were so kind, smiling and friendly - even cleaning staff encountered in the hallway. We all slept well. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was kinda cool with a sliding door. The pool was neat with cabanas, had music playing and we enjoyed it all to ourselves. The gym had more machines and weights than most hotels. The breakfast was also a step up from typical hotel breakfasts. The breakfast staff there were smiling, sweet and helpful. They even let us know there was fresh batch of French toast arriving in a couple minutes so we didn’t take the older pieces. Our teen said the place had a “vibe” (sorry, I’m not cool enough to use it correctly) and he was right. Priya, at the front desk, also went above and beyond in the morning. It is a great hotel with special staff. Five stars.

Trendy and smelly
Pros:

Lobby sounded like a Chuckee Cheese with a pool party...
And the room smelled like a high-school gym locker room with dirty clothes.
And the door stop (floor stop) was broken.
So it is a trendy smelly hotel that needs better maintenance.
The layout of floor is awkward... try to find your room off your elevator...

Walking Distance to Ctrain
Pros:

Stylish hotel with pleasant staff. Our room was very spacious and nicely furnished. Beds were comfortable although the air conditioner was quite noisy in the night. Our bathroom had an odd layout with an enclosed shower and toilet room plus a separate open sink area. Bathroom amenities were of good quality and walk-in shower was nice. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely. Buffet breakfast was included with our room price and it was fine. Staff in the breakfast area were concientious.
