Nice hotel. Air conditioner wasn’t great though.
At the edge of French quarter and walkable to the area. Close to public transportation of the Trolleys. We were in the older area of the hotel, I did not see any breakfast only coffee. Staff helped us with directions and extending my stay due to the snow storms.
Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Nicely decorated and comfortable reception area. Big comfortable bed.
My wife saw a rat on the stairs up to our room 3 times, and a large roach in the room.
The toilet was very low, so harder to get up from for older people.
I tried to watch TV but it didn’t work. After several minutes I found the cable box wasn’t plugged into an outlet behind the big dresser with the TV on it. With some struggle first trying to move the dresser to get my hand to the outlet I plugged it in. But then only got 3 local channels. The next morning at checkout I asked if there should have been more channels and they said yes, and they would look into it. Also, the remote for the AC did not work to turn it on.
The manager on duty was helpful.
To be honest, we never stayed. After researching options, I opted to stay in a historic hotel. We were upstairs, accessible by a questionable outside staircase. The room and bathroom were tiny. However, the biggest issue were the 5 dead, but huge, LA cocktoaches inches floor, and those were just the ones in plain sight. The room also smelled like bug spray. The one chair in the room was dirty, and the bathroom floor was cracked. We also were not aware that in order to park on property, you have to give them your keys. Needless to say, we did not stay. The manager provided a full refund, so that cushioned the blow. To be fair, the other rooms may be wonderful, just not the one we saw.
My adult son and I found this hotel to be quite charming. It’s a collection of small old cottages, very historic. We stayed in the Ella Fitzgerald room. It was very basic but clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic and even has a small grocery store right across the street. We felt safe walking in the area even late at night. Staff was friendly and the free coffee in the morning was quite good! Parking was really expensive, much higher than usual because of Jazzfest. We already have plans to stay here again when we visit in the future.
After many visits to New Orleans, I’ve found my forever hotel. I booked last minute for Jazz Fest period, and the rate was so affordable, I honestly thought it was too good to be true. It was suggested by someone who’d only walked by it. What an amazing place. All the FQ atmosphere you could want, very very cool jazz themed common areas, 2 beautiful courtyards with pools!, and a very comfortable room. Super location with nearby local food. Best of all, welcoming owner, front desk and other staff which made it a very comfortable home, especially for a solo female (and ok, somewhat senior) traveler.

I complained about bed bugs of some sort which resulted in bites to my scalp and shoulders, took pictures of the bugs and informed the front desk manager. The manager refused to visit the room with me and told me someone would call. Six hours later, I get a stay survey and via text while at the airport and was informed that "no traces of bed bugs were found". I suspect the room was already changed and cleaned by then. I Googled bed bugs and suggested they apply mattress covers and was told it would be a consideration going forward. I typically dont do negative feedback but they made it sound like I was lying about my experience which is unfortunate since I've stayed there before and generally like the hotel and staff.
Horrible!!
Great location, great vibes, great service!
L’emplacement est top
Ménage moyen
Our first room was frighteningly bad, in a building across the street with no outside door and a hallway that rival finer crackhouses. We almost left but Larry moved us to another room which was much better, although still questionable locks on the door and pretty shabby. I heard a woman telling the manager that she heard rats fighting and running in the walls all night. Based on our first room, I believe it. Staying here was a mistake I will not make again.
