Beautiful History, Yet Falling Behind
Pros:

I love the old-world glamour of the hotel. As many others have mentioned, though, the rooms are in need of an upgrade. I think the relatively low prices reflect the current condition of the rooms, and they’ll probably increase once the renovations are completed.

It’s always nice to come back, but with so many competing hotels in Brussels now, I’m not sure Le Plaza is keeping up. The breakfast is served in the basement and the selection isn’t particularly impressive, which doesn’t really match the expectations of a five-star hotel.

That said, it’s still a good stay overall.

Only comfortable and big bed , and nice breakfast

Cons:

We were very disappointed with the hotel. We booked a beautiful, spacious room—like the one shown in the photos on their website—via Booking.com. However, upon arrival, they put us in a completely different room that was much smaller and not nearly as nice. To make matters worse, the receptionist was rude and unwelcoming; she wouldn't even speak English with us. They lied and claimed it was the last room available, but I immediately checked Booking.com and saw that other rooms—including the type we had originally booked—were still free. They are liars. The following evening, I found a cockroach crawling up the bathroom wall when I turned on the light. We reported it and they changed our room, but that didn't help, as they couldn't guarantee the new room would be cockroach-free. How can a hotel like this have a 5-star rating? We spent three nights there in a state of fear because of the cockroaches. We will never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It is the worst hotel we have ever experienced. We plan to report them to the relevant authorities so they can be inspected for cockroaches.

Sehr gutes Hotel mit höflichem Personal, das allerdings für 5 Sterne mehr geben könnte

Das sehr höfliches Personal. Die Lobby ist sehr schön und traditionell, wirkt aber ein klein wenig uneinladend. Auch die Verlängerung unseres Aufenthalts war problemlos möglich. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und mit einem (sehr lauten) Klimagerät ausgestattet. Das Bad war etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sehr sauber und geräumig. Guter mittelgroßer Fernseher und schöne Möbel.

Cons:

Der Parkhauszugang ist gewöhnungsbedürftig und das Parkhaus selbst extrem eng - wir hatten Glück mit einem mittelgroßen Wagen grade so ins Erdgeschoss zu passen. Des Weiteren hat der check in 1,5h länger gedauert und es wurde keinerlei Entschädigung oder was zum Trinken angeboten während wir warteten. Allerdings ist das für mich kein Fehler der Angestellten die durchweg extrem höflich und freundlich waren, sondern eher eine Managementvorgabe. Für ein 5 Sterne Hotel finde ich das ein wenig enttäuschend. Auch ein klein wenig enttäuschend war, dass das Tee und Kaffeesortiment eigentlich jeden Tag aufgefüllt werden sollte - das ist leider nicht passiert.

Excellent hotel, great value for money
Pros:

Great hotel, excellent location, walkable distance to shopping and major tourist attractions. The bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

The walls were not completely sound proof and we could hear talking from next room til late at night.

Virkelig flot hotel, som godt nok er ældre, men som har charme og sjæl. God service hos personalet. Man følte sig godt behandlet og foyeren bød én velkommen på en overdådig måde.
