The location was ideal for a concert at the Academy, and very close to the train station. It was a bit noisy as it’s in quite a lively area in the heart of China Town, but not enough to bother us.
Room was very basic and a bit dated, but was fine just to sleep in after going out for the night.
The staff were friendly and helped direct us to an alternative carpark as the hotel carpark was full when we arrived.
Due to the location we knew it would be noisy at night but it was exceptionally noisy. We could not open the windows to let in fresh air or cool the room down because of the noise - it was so hot in the room that none of us slept much at all
I was driving and finding it difficult to locate the hotel. I tried to phone but no individual number, just a global centre which rang off!!!
Great central location for Birmingham and easy to find even by car. Extremely limited parking at the hotel (less than 20 spaces). Room was small but functional. Some cobwebs on the ceiling so cleanliness not as expected. All staff were very polite and acknowledge me instantly, very pleasant. My room was on the second floor and at night you could hear the sound from a nearby club so for light sleepers, not ideal.
Clean rooms. No ironing facilities in the room. Will have to go and iron in a small windowless room at the end of the corridor which feels a bit stuffy. Close to lots of restaurants and within walking distance of good shopping. Okay hotel in general just jot sure of suitability for business travellers. Parking onsite but very limited and cramped and bigger cars will struggle. Good hotel if the car is small and only a night or two.
Be warned. The hotel is on top of a bar/club. If you visit at the weekend and are allocated a room at that side of the hotel, then you will be partying too until 3am! There is a warning on their direct site but not on any 3rd party site. Luckily (after being offered ear plugs) we were moved to a room on the other side of the building. This was far more peaceful, it was very affordable, clean, beds were comfy, big towels and friendly staff. This is a no frills hotel, located in the very central China Town area. Good for the very affordable price.
The room wae very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Shabby hotel, tiny shower room smelt of sewerage, area poor
My room and mattress stunk of wee i slept in my clothes with a towel on the duvet as the smell was realy bad
Excellent value central Birmingham Hotel - ideal for a quick stay near New Street.
Room very clean and staff very friendly and helpful
Room was small but ok for a short stay. Clean and the shower was good. We could hear other guests so the soundproofing could be upgraded. The underground car park is very tight to get into.
Like Fort Knox at night. Rooms very small and dated. Very noisy from night club. Bathroom very small.
Good value for this type of hotel .
Friendly & helpful staff , breakfast as good as any other hotel .
Stayed with my brother. No air conditioning which really dampened things in the summer. Was provided with a fan though.
Bathroom was more like one you’d find on a train.
Didn’t think it was that good value for money sorry
The hotel is very dated. The room we were in had the handle to the bathroom literally hanging on by a screw.
There was building work inside the hotel and also outside. Some loud banging started at about 7am and felt very near to our room outside.
I let the receptionist know about the noise, purely for their knowledge ahead of booking anyone else into the room. One of the girls on the desk was very kind and friendly, the other was less friendly.
It’s great to have a late bar though and breakfast was nice enough x
Lovely place to stay & close to transportation. Ingrid in the restaurant area was sooo amazing, she had a lot of information on the area friendly, personable, over all sweet lady.
Fantastic option for a stay in Birmingham!
Location and staff great
