Great stay
Pros:

We didn’t have much expectation and almost stay at Sheraton next door. Overall it’s an enjoyable stay. The entrance is nice and the hotel is located in a nice place across the beach walk (not for swimming). Hotel has casino and you can exchange currency there.

Lobby is nice (Sheraton looks more grand.) Checks in was no problem. You can choose point or amenity. We chose cold cut & cheese with water.
Room is big and comfortable, not very fancy. Upgrade was not available for elite member. They said it’s only available at checkin but we arrived very late and no offer for upgrade. I’d say don’t expect anything. We encountered Ashley at front desk on other days. It’s a great pleasure to interact with her. Thanks so much.

There’s a daily event at 7 pm. I think they serve drink but I missed it daily.

ROOM: You can see partial view of ocean from the window. I recommend you ask for a room closer to elevator since it’s where location is closer to the ocean.

CLUB LOUNGE: Club lounge is clean and beautiful. I enjoy varieties of coffee from the coffee machine. Soft drinks are available throughout the day. Natalie was friendly and helpful. She rocked and enjoyed her hospitality. Evening food was very nice with different menu daily. No alcohol if that’s what you are looking for.

SPA: I’d recommend the service. You won’t regret.

POOL: I didn’t have time to use the pool a lot but it’s a good size and you can relax there all day.

BREAKFAST: The breakfast at Luna restaurant is comped due to elite status. Food is good overall but you can get bored after a week. There’s omelet station and a few local dishes are rotated. Servers are friendly and eager to help when asked. But they don’t usually do lap. You have to ask for coffee refill which could be a let down when you have to constantly get up to find someone.

TRANSPORTATION: We called Uber to pick up at the hotel and there’s no issues.

Overall it’s a nice stay and we don’t mind staying there again.

Cons:

Ein typisches Stadt-Ketten-Hotel das schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Frühstück nicht gerade überwältigend für den Preis.

Rien.
L'hôtel utilise des techniques pour encaisser au maximum d'argent.
Attention a tout verrouiller avec booking pour ne pas vous faire avoir .
Le seul point positif est la taille de la chambre.
Tout le reste est a fuir absolument.

Cons:

Réservation via Booking dans un hôtel annoncé 5 étoiles. À l’arrivée, la réception a tenté de nous faire payer presque le double du prix réservé soit 300euros . Petit déjeuner annoncé à 14 $ sur Booking mais facturé 70 $ par l'hôtel même avec preuve du prix booking.
Aucun bar, aucune activité et accès à la piscine refusé malgré notre pass. Dès que nous avons contesté les prix, les sourires ont disparu.
Malgré notre réclamation avec preuves, aucun geste commercial. L'objectif est de facturer au maximum.
Énorme écart entre l’annonce sur booking et la réalité. À éviter.

Best pool and pool staff in Santo Domingo
Pros:

The Jaragua is a good hotel. Great room options and good food. But the best part of the hotel is the swimming pool. Specially the staff. Cristian, Emil, Castro, Pablo and Joaquin. They are fast, friendly and always looking out for the guests comfort. I come for a few days a year. And can’t wait to return. Mil gracias señores.

Terrible customer service
Pros:

They argued about the price of a dish, literally claiming that they misunderstood. They didn’t. It was specific. The bartender repeated exactly what I asked for. Then in the end they insisted on charging for a more expensive (“similar”) dish.

Instead of admitting their mistake, they kept trying to justify it.
