Excellent experience at the Highliner. Great staff, great location. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and had a great view! The balcony was a huge bonus. Got an excellent sleep. The restaurant downstairs had some really good food, both dinner and breakfast options - there was either a free continental breakfast, or a discounted hot breakfast restaurant-style sit down option. Parking is on the street, but there were more than enough spots. Would for sure stay here again next time I'm in Prince Rupert.
This hotel was disgusting . There were bug traps all over the room . The bed was awful just outside our door were open wires covered up by a curtain . It was supposed to be renovated and it’s like they ran out of money and just left things unfinished . Stay away from this dump
Nice big newly renovated room
staff was very helpful and generous. Easy checkin..
will definitely recommend.
I would like to see more food and fruit and drinks and more better staff
Building is in need of a refresh. Shows very little pride in itself. No energy. Takes away from the experience. Dining room has no ambiance.
An old convention centre now partially used for at-risk housing. Dirty windows, no towels at check-in, pleasant but inexperienced reception, located in old part of city. Good breakfast, pleasant staff when avai.
The beds are too high for shorter people with mobility challenges. The bed was also quite uncomfortable, very hard. No hand soap options by bathroom sink
Not a bad place
I loved the Ocean view. But the parking area NEEDS to be cleaned up and better accessible. The parking across the street only had one narrow in and out opening and the grass was tall, gravel was uneven. If it is not your parking lot why direct me to park there? Other than that my stay was good.
Room was large and clean, bathroom great. Loved opening balcony door for the fresh air. We met our cleaning lady and she was wonderful!
Arrived Friday mid day
-exterior and entrance of building very old and run down
Asked about secure parking, "that was reserved for tenants who live here"
Went up to our room. As we were there for a wedding, we needed to iron clothes. Ironing board, but no iron. Called the desk. And clerk said she would have one brought up. It was.
We wanted a drink with ice. But there was no ice bucket. Another trip to the desk. Given a small ice bucket. Told not to drink the ice cubes, because of a "boil advisor" since Aug 6, it was now mid Sept. 1 small 500 ml bottle provided. We then went and purchased a $3 4l bottle.
Asked for more coffee for the room and paper to go with the pen.
The room was warm and stuffy, tried to find the AC. Was told none of the rooms has AC, however Was provided a fan for the room.
We thought we'd like to watch TV. It had worked, then stopped. Possibly it was the batteries in the remote. But it wasn't. By then it was late at night and no one available to fix the TV. A new clerk, said she noticed we had had issues and offered to move us. That was so kind. Up to 7th floor with ocean view.
It was spacious and appeared cleaner. Up in the morning, saying well at least the bed was clean. Went to make the bed and the comforter had stains on the top and bottom of the comforter.
Went to have a shower, almost all dispensers were empty.
Decided to go for breakfast , there was a live milipede on the plate for the serving spoon. 😞 SO MUCH WRONG HERE
The staff were really friendly and professional. The breakfasts were excellent and again the servers were excellent. The room was clean and adequate, bathroom catered to showers, but was good size. Bars of soap would be nice. The view of the harbour from our room was very nice and I appreciated that the hotel gave us the upgrade. We would stay there again
Amazing
No soap, No shampoo in the shower area. Empty dispensers.
Lady at front desk brought in cover up soap bars but not expected when you pay full price for the hotel room.
Unsafe for kids as open wires visible on the radiant heaters .
The Highliner was a perfect venue for a family reunion. Two families stayed in the penthouse, which became a gathering location for the group. The hotel catered the main meal of the day in the conference room, where group activities were also held. The view was spectacular from the conference room and penthouse rooms. Staff were friendly, food was tasty. The Highliner serves well as a location for any group gatherings. Spending a few days in the Highliner was an enjoyable experience.
Amazing place
Not worth the price, noisy room, not well equiped
I was allowed to checked in one hour early
A daunting multi-purpose Cold War era industrial bunker turned hotel. Sad. Depressing. Frigid. Desolate. Pure survival mode. Hunt or be hunted. BUT HEY they have smart tvs!
