Amazing family stay at Grantley Hall
Pros:

We turned into the driveway and were met by Isaac who was absolutely fabulous. He is such a great asset to Grantley his welcome was amazing. We drove up to the Hall through the most wonderful gardens and they were waiting with their umbrellas for us as it was raining. Just our arrival with Isaac and the team put the stamp on the most amazing time. The staff, the beautiful place, the food and the spa, it was all just so perfect. Everything shown on the documentary on channel five was completely correct. It was amazing in every way, thank u to everyone, especially Poppy for ensuring our special diets were correctly catered for, made our stay so so enjoyable and memorable

Birthday joy 🥳
Pros:

Our warm welcome back to Grantley Hall felt as though we had never left, almost a year to the day. From arrival, there was a feeling of positive energy as we entered the beautifully landscaped sculpture gardens, which lasted right through to departure. Stan, Yash, Daisy, and all of the staff members were exceptionally attentive throughout our stay, never leaving us to second-guess what Grantley Hall had to offer.

Our suite, with it's garden views, was luxuriously stunning and far more spacious than we had expected. My spa treatment was carried out professionally and with great care, targeting a specific problem area, and was one of the highlights of my stay.

The Orchard dining experience had a grand, alfresco-style feel without the effects of the Northern weather. We had a wonderfully flawless experience, and we’ll be back!

A wonderful place to stay
Pros:

Our visit began with the best welcome we have ever had from wonderful Isaac at the entrance gate. What a superstar!
The drive up to the hotel is very picturesque. The porters are all wonderful. Your arrival is an event in itself! We were at the hotel to celebrate an anniversary and all of the staff welcomed us and wished us a Happy Anniversary. A very nice touch.
The hotel is beautiful. It is immaculately clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful.
Our room was lovely. The extra touches like raincoats in the wardrobe to wear if necessary were excellent.
We had a walk around the grounds. They are so well looked after and very beautiful. It’s a really lovely walk and well worth doing.
We didn’t use the Spa on this occasion but it looked fabulous.
We had dinner in Fletchers. This was the only disappointment. We were seated in an off shot room with a few other guests. As this was our first visit we did not realise there is also a main restaurant room. Several guests on arriving at the door to our part refused the table offered and requested to be sat in the main room. Our waiters were excellent and the food was good but the room did lack atmosphere and was a little disappointing. We would request to be in the main room on future visits.
Breakfast was excellent and the service was superb.
On departure our luggage was collected and taken away. By the time we had completed checkout our car was waiting at the door with luggage loaded on board and bottles of water provided for the journey. A final example of the thoughtful and excellent service throughout our stay.
This hotel is very expensive but really worth a visit and we will definitely return. They just get it right!

Outstanding, as per.
Pros:

This was our second stay at Grantley Hall and once again it completely delivered. From the moment you arrive, everything feels polished, calm and genuinely luxurious without ever feeling stuffy or uncomfortable.

The setting itself is stunning and the whole property is maintained beautifully. Every space feels thoughtful and high end, but still warm and welcoming at the same time. The decor is inspired!

Our room was exceptional. Spacious, immaculate and incredibly comfortable, with all the little touches you’d hope for from a hotel of this calibre. Ward marble bathroom floor feels the epitome of luxe. It felt like somewhere you could properly switch off and relax.

The spa is one of the best we’ve experienced in the UK. Beautifully designed, peaceful and a real standout part of the stay. You could easily spend hours there without needing to leave - although the massages we had were great, I have to say they didn’t quite meet the standard I’ve come to expect from a hotel of this calibre.

Food throughout the stay was also outstanding. Every meal felt carefully considered, beautifully presented and genuinely memorable. Breakfast is a high light - so relaxed. Service matched the quality of the food too professional, attentive and effortless throughout.

What Grantley Hall does so well is create an experience that feels consistently excellent from start to finish. Nothing feels rushed, nothing feels overlooked and the attention to detail is clear everywhere you look. The staff : guest ratio really pays offs

A very special place and somewhere we’ll absolutely return to again.

Stunning
Pros:

We went to Grantley Hall using a voucher that my friend had bought me and my husband for our 50th birthdays.

So I thought it worthy of a trip advisor review having watched Yorkshire’s poshest hotel.

We received a very warm welcome at the gatehouse which was nice on a very damp and wet bank holiday Sunday!

The grounds are STUNNING, immaculate truly special, just a shame the inclement weather meant that we couldn’t take a walk.

The downside - the car park is a long walk from the main hotel reception and the cobbled wet and gravely path was not kind to my Louboutins - crack jeopardy in heels and abrasive on the soles!! Not what I was expecting having watched the TV show!

The reception area also felt chaotic and a little bit unwelcoming lots of staff and a bit of a lack of direction!

Onto the afternoon tea that was stunning. The staff were excellent very attentive and friendly.

The food was delicious and plentiful! My personal favourites were the Textures of beetroot in feuille de brick, the Crayfish cocktail navette, pink grapefruit, chives, and Yorkshire rhubarb choux à la crème. There was also a lot of food and we were given a lovely box to bring home what we couldn’t manage.

The tea and coffee was also very plentiful and the champagne was very nice.

The afternoon tea was lovely - a real a treat! My learning if you’re not staying in the hotel and you park in the main car park don’t wear your best shoes I wish I’d put some trainers on but I wanted to get dressed up for the occasion!

Spectacular!
Pros:

Wow, what a place ! Spent 3 nights at this superb hotel and I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven. It's an absolute dream. From the moment I arrived ( hello Georgie) to the moment I left, I was made to feel extra special and extremely well looked after. The hotel and grounds are breathtaking. My room had everything I could want and was very comfortable and peaceful. Ate at 3 of the restaurants- 88, Fletchers and Shaun Rankin. Each had a fantastic menu and exceptional service. The team throughout this establishment are an absolute delight. As a solo female traveller I felt safe and cared for at all times. I literally could go on and on about how much I have fallen in love with Grantley. Yes, its on the pricey side but worth every penny. Re-booking as we speak 😊

A Day Fit for a Queen X
Pros:

I took my Mother Maureen for afternoon tea to celebrate her 85th Birthday, the whole experience from us walking through the doors was so special. They couldn't do enough for us, the afternoon tea was delicious, they brought out a fruit tray with hand piped in Chocolate Happy Birthday with choccoes, jellies and a little lit candle. My mother said she felt like the Queen, special thanks to Daisy, Allison for impeccable service and the lovely Ricardo who was a wonderful host and showed us around.

A very special Day, congratulations to the Owners Xxx

Birthday treat
Pros:

My husband booked an overnight as a surprise for my birthday and just WOW !
Visited the hotel for drinks a couple of weeks ago and we were so impressed. ( unbeknown to me hubby booked our stay following a behind the scenes tour with Nuno).
The stay was top notch, we have stayed at some fabulous places over the years but Grantley Hall is a cut above. We had the Lady Daisy suite, my hubby had organised lots of lovley extras which were all set up and waiting when we checked in, the suite was well appointed and immaculate. Lunch on the Norton bar terrace was excellent followed by a lovley stroll around the beautiful grounds, and diner at Shaun Rankin.
The weather was so nice that we didn't use the spa (saving that for next visit).
The hall is a credit to the sykes family and the team and certainly puts Yorkshire on the map. Can't wait to visit again, afternoon tea already in the pipeline.
Thank you to all the team

Almost perfect
Pros:

What the Sykes family have done to Grantley hall cannot be understated this hotel is absolutely beautiful.
The rooms, the grounds, the SPA is absolutely top class.
That being said it’s not without a few issues too.

ARRIVAL
Greeted at the entrance driveway by Issac and what a great guy he is. This hotel are very lucky to have a guy like him be their first impression because he’s fun and really makes the beginning of the stay special.

CHECK IN
Check in was swift but here we encountered our first issue we had planned to come for 13:00hrs and this was agreed with the hotel but a fire at the SPA meant that this was closed and it was an hourly update to know if it was to open at all.
My question here would be why not contact those arriving early to say the SPA was shut.
Me and my wife then sat for 2hrs not knowing if the SPA was to open and even if we’d be staying.
We were given a tea and coffee while we waited and I have to say the coffee at this hotel is very poor it’s basically a cup of froth…

FINALLY THE SPA OPENS
The Spa opened and I have to say it was superb and although you could smell the smoke from the fire in the downstairs pool that’s no fault of the hotel and we had the most relaxing few hours in the Spa.

THE ROOM
Our room was outstanding there’s nothing more I can say. Absolutely incredible and again I go back to the standard the Sykes family have set for their hotel.

FLETCHERS
We dined at Fletchers and me and my wife were sort of sat in a corner of the restaurant it was comfortable and it wasn’t what I felt was very romantic in regards a table for 2.
I blame myself for this as I should have said something at the time and didn’t so that’s on me.
Again though you comeback to experience and table certainly wasn’t for me and how it had us placed wasn’t what I’d call high end it was like we were shoe horned in for our meal.
The food was amazing though I had the Denver Wagyu and my wife had lobster both were superb.
The Apple pie and sticky toffee pudding were also superb .

AFTER MEAL DRINKS
We sat in the bar and had a cocktail to end our night I had an expresso martini but for some reason it’s not on the menu. My wife had a gin with lemonade both were really good.

BREAKFAST
We decided to have breakfast in our room as we’d never been offered this anywhere but Dubai and decided to take advantage of it.
This was done superbly and this time I did get to sit across from my wife and enjoy our food.
I definitely could have eaten a bit more of the gorgeous food. I again tried a coffee and again it was coffee flavoured froth. Good job my wife had some tea left so I had a cuppa.

MORNING SPA
We spent our morning in the Spa and again it was just superb.
Steam room to snow room was superb the whole ambiance of the Spa is so on point and we’ve been to lots around the country.

DEPARTURE
We walked the grounds and these are spectacular and we got some lovely pictures.
We seen Issac walking to his post and had a chat with him again such a great guy.
All told our leaving bill was £350 with most of that being the meal at Fletchers and 4 cocktails.

OVERALL
Grantley is an amazing hotel with hard working staff who clearly care that hotel is seen to be functioning at its very best.

We will return and are already planning our next booking.
Despite a few minor issues we had the best 24hrs of our lives and for that I thank Grantley greatly.
Was it worth the wait… Absolutely

Still wonderful
Pros:

We have just returned from the wonderful Grantley Hall. This hotel is truly wonderful, staff are welcoming and friendly, rooms and surroundings are spotless and the service is next level.

Special mention to Vince and the breakfast team who install an air of calm in the morning. Housekeeping who work behind the scenes to maintain the standards of the hotel also deserve a mention.

Pros:

It was absolute perfection from the moment we drove through the gate - with valet parking, attentive and knowledgeable service, beautiful ambience and delicious food and drink. Absolutely Fantastic Stay!
Pros:

We had a fantastic overnight stay at Grantley last week. My mother and I went to celebrate my birthday, having been to the spa many times we decided to stay overnight and I’m so glad we did. We were greeted at the gate by lovely Issac, he is the perfect person to welcome guests, friendly, enthusiastic and joyful. I even got a rendition of Happy birthday from him with his bell.

From that moment onwards the trip just got more amazing as the day went on, the staff are truly out of this world, every single member is amazing. Each person embodies the friendly Yorkshire nature you’d expect up north and they make you feel like you’re at a home away from home.

When we arrived we were slightly early so weren’t able to check in straight away, the team were fantastic and ensured us they’d get our bags up to our room while we relaxed in the spa. After a welcome drink we headed to the wonderful spa.

The spa is out of this world, we love coming back, we’ve been to countless spas in the country and none compare to Grantley Hall.
We’re slowly working our way through different treatments at the spa and this time my mother had the Quiro massage and I had a sports massage, both were amazing. I have to mention both Lexia and Amanie who did our treatments, so knowledgeable and friendly. Absolutely brilliant!

When we went up to the room it had been decorated with balloons and a cake for my birthday which was a lovely touch! The cake was absolutely delicious! The rooms are very luxurious and have everything you could possibly need, the little touches of slippers, rain coats and an umbrella just gives that extra magic, the team have really thought of it all.

We had a slight issue in our room with our bath and the team were fantastic in trying to find a solution, matinance came to the room straight away and then Kevin followed up and passed the issue over to Ricardo.

We have to give a special mention to Ricardo, he did everything he could to help us, he went above and beyond and his attitude to guest feedback was brilliant. We cannot wait to return to the hotel in a few months, Ricardo has been so generous to help us arrange a return trip in June.

We decided to eat at The Grantley Arms for our evening meal and I’m so glad we did. The food was delicious, the staff fantastic and the atmosphere of the pub was very comforting.

I do have to finally mention Andrew who drove us to and from the Grantley Arms, the most lovely Yorkshire man. Being from Yorkshire ourselves we clicked with him straight away, he dropped us off and then offered to come back and pick us up a few hours later. Such a lovely gentleman!

A quick stop to the gift shop on the way out, I didn’t catch the ladies name in there but she was lovely and I met Minnie the famous cat!

Can’t wait to come back in June, Grantley Hall is truly the best in the country!
