Koko Acqua Lodge

I have never stayed in a place like this - it was so unique! Walking along the pier to the cabin is a treat. Lots of unique fish and colorful plants. And it is even better at night. We saw sea stars, neons, angel fish, barracuda, and a lot more. The cabin itself is both rustic and comfortable, which is hard to do. The two balconies offer amazing views of the bay. You can easily walk to a couple of places on the isthmus. It's about a 20 minute walk to the heart of Bocas town, or an easy cab ride that should cost about $1 per person.The staff were extremely nice. We enjoyed this very much.

I liked the kayaks

Spacious. Nice kitchenette. Bottled water provided. Our cabin was one of the furthest out onto the water, so it had a nice view. Great deck. The property is a bit far from the main downtown area, about 20 minutes walk. Also the area surrounding the property is kind of sketchy. It's not a very nice walk to get from the main road to the property.

We had a wonderful time staying in one of Koko aqua lodge’s over the water bungalow for a few days while visiting Bocas Del Toro,Panama….And what made it even better were the super friendly people who run the place in particular Heylis who is a great host and a real good singer in a local band…Thank you all ☺️

Hytten var rummelig, med masser af opholdsplads ude som inde.
De ansatte var virkelig søde, og der var fint rent både i hytten, så vel som i vandet, hvor det skrald der flød ind ude fra havet blev fjernet hver dag.
Vi havde et virkelig dejligt ophold, uden søvnforstyrrelser, larm eller andet.
Hængekøjen på terassen er et fantastisk sted at nyde en øl, og slappe helt af.
Hytten havde gratis vand 😀

For at komme herud skal man igennem et lidt fattigere, lokalt område. Men alle er virkelig søde og venlige, og hver gang vi gik igennem området fik vi hilste på alle, og snakket lidt med et par stykker. Det er ikke utrygt overhovedet, selvom det måske syner sådan ved første øjekast.

Ved ankomst skal man ringe til ejeren, for at komme ind. Dette kan gøres via WhatsApp.

Excellent service, la proprietaire parle bien anglais, à 5 min à pied de plusieurs épiceries, très plaisant de dormir au bruit des vagues, à 20 min à pied du centre ville très accessible en taxi pour 1$ par personne

A very comfortable stay, really clean with helpful staff.It takes around 20min to get to the center of the island.

Just about the nicest place to stay in Bocas

The property was pretty, but my complaint is about the customer service from the attendant working the office during check-in. He offered to cancel one reservation for a room that we had next to the office and move us into the house over the water where my other friend was staying by himself in a large house with plenty of room where he already had a reservation. I paid $60.50 on my credit card at the time onsite and he assured me that the other original reservation I had would be cancelled and the money returned to my credit card, but it never was. So i'm still awaiting a refund for the room that I never used after paying more to move to the other house with my companions that had another reservation. Please refund the $60.50 to my Mastercard.

The cabins are beautiful, clean, and the staff is amazing. The location is a bit of a buzz kill. I was dropped off on a sidewalk and had to walk through a very impoverished area that felt a bit sketchy to get to the property. It was quiet in the evening but I was woken up a little after 4am by a boat bringing wood for a construction project followed by locals being pretty loud, followed by the neighbor yelling at his wife and mother in-law (luckily my son doesn’t speak Spanish because they were pretty harsh words).
The owners have a great place and the things that aren’t great are out of their control.

We were in a house, on the water with our own private dock.

Can’t beat having your own house above the water!

What an amazing place to stay in Bocas del Toro. The hut was pristine and really comfortable. Try to request a water front lodge (there are 6 in total) but the front two are right on the water front but the sunsets either way are insane. The staff we dealt with were so friendly and helpful plus they did laundry for us in one hour for $10 per load. Be aware that this property is about 20 minutes walk from the main area for restaurants etc and you have to walk between locals’ houses to get the property. The water is clear and you can see some marine life like star fish and small squid but there is a lot of litter floating in the water and general waste which is a real shame (not Koko Acqua’s fault).
Despite this, it was really good value for money and I highly recommend a night or two here if you’re staying in Bocas del Toro.

The cabinas over the water were beautiful. It was nice to be able to cook a nice dinner and enjoy the view from the property.

Would highly recommend this property

The setting is great but it's difficult to get transportation.
They have a full kitchen but don't provide necessary items.
Only one towel a day and they are very strict about it.
