Hompton by the Beach Penang

Nice location and beautiful view. Nice direct access to the beach. Pool at 10th floor was clean and offered a great view.

Great hotel, the supreme suite was great. Not much around the area so had to get grab everywhere but was cheap so that was ok. Amazing views from our room. Very clean room and good food at restaurants

could of done with 24hr room service, netflix or in house movies.

There was a bus down the road from our hotel meaning that we could we could take the bus down to Georgetown. Nice swimming pool, beach front with scenic seating area, food court in front of hotel with other local restaurants in the vicinity, bus stops close by if you want to try the local service.

Location is beachfront, however still need a grab/taxi to get around. Property is a little dated. Service is good

AC has been fixed for 3 times still not cold enough . Changed room once still has problem with AC

Beautiful beachfront hotel with stunning sea views. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway with easy beach access. Highly recommended!

Just very far from Georgetown and there is nothing to do around the hotel. And you can’t swim on beach because there is a lot of jellyfish

Outstanding hotel - truly excellent all around. Very clean and resourced. The room was huge with an ocean view - overall location was perfect. Most importantly the staff were notably helpful, friendly, professional and patient. Oh and there’s a fabulous night market right outside the door - great food choices!!!

Room i choose was excellent, hotel restaurant staffs were very professional. And surprisingly there's a beautiful front desk staff that can speak my language too.
Anyway no need to think if i go to Penang again, this is the only one hotel i would stay.

Great customer service.

The hotel has direct beach access and the view is truly amazing. You literally cannot be closer to the beach.

However, I found the property to be very dated and in dire need of a refurbishment. The door frames are peeling, there’s a constant smell of smoke in the corridors and the soft furnishings have clearly been overused. In addition, the housekeeping is very hit and miss - we had to call on several occasions as they did not come to our room.

Another thing that might not be the hotel’s fault, but I found the pool unusable. It might be because of the clientele of the hotel (although it is not cheap), but the pool etiquette of guests is very poor and there is no staff oversight. For instance, the pool chairs were all taken up by fully dressed men on their phones and ogling at the women. People were going into the pool with a full face of make up and outside clothes. It was very disappointing for me to not be able to swim but I just felt too uncomfortable.

I think the hotel needs a refurbishment and rebrand so it can make use of its wonderful location and attract a different clientele.

Really enjoyed our 7 night stay here. The view over the ocean is outstanding. My only negative was the small fridge is not cold enough. You can’t get your drinks cold enough. Would stay here again.

Great room size for a family of 4. The breakfast left me pleasantly surprised. The views from the room of the entire shoreline were fantastic.

Our room was in front of linens storage. Probably if the staffs leave the door open, an alarm rings.
One night the alarm was kept going hours. It was annoying. And the swimming pool is small.
Except for these, the stay at Hompton was quite amusing. Staffs are really friendly. Great Viva Foodcourt is right in front

Incredible view from room (30th floor). Extensive breakfast choices. Beach and pool were not used by many guests the 3 days I was there. Far into Goergetown so not a good base. Suggest a few days there to relax and a few days in Georgetown
