Great hotel and all the staff were so friendly from reception to bar staff and every other staff member we spoke to. The hotel is very central to the centre of Oxford and very close to the railway station every thing was excellent would definitely stay here again.
We always enjoy the ease of access from the train at this hotel. The food is good and we appreciate the service. In this case, Jess, Swapnil, were extraordinary and highly recommend them.
The staff were friendly; bathroom towels good quality.
Room design not great with obscured glass bathroom that shone light into the bedroom; air conditioning not working properly, uncomfortable bed; pillows very poor; could not open window even a crack; outlook into other rooms; poor breakfast …
Air conditioned hotel in a good location.
I would like to thank the staff of the Marriott for making our stay wonderful.
Despite the renovations outside, front of house insisted on coming to help us get our luggage and help us store it until we could check in. Thank you!
The morning breakfast manager ensured my wife could enjoy breakfast by making it Celiac friendly. Thank you!
The room was wonderfully clean and well appointed!
Keep up the good work everyone!
We stayed at the hotel that we had visited once before and were pretty disappointed this time around. We were visiting Oxford for a small university reunion, so had to have this weekend and all hotel prices this weekend were high. We paid double what we had paid the previous visit.
Despite the super high cost price, the room was nowhere near as nice as the room we stayed in on a previous visit. On the 4th floor though it has a large bed it was two pushed together which then created an uncomfortable gap in the middle. The room was clean but really small. It didn’t have a coffee machine, an empty water carafe had been left out - which it would have been no effort to fill with water and pop into the fridge. The air conditioning was working but not very strong. On a positive note it was nice and clean, but overall with its size and lack of amenities it felt like a budget hotel room, for a very not budget price!
Breakfast was a reasonable selection of food. The room where you eat again feels like a budget hotel breakfast space. I remembered that from last time so it didn’t overly bother me and I think it was just because of how much we paid that it felt incongruous this time around.
I have visited Oxford enough to know that it’s not a cheap city, and with this hotel being right in the middle of town, you expect a premium. The other reviews on here are all great, so make of mine what you will, but if you are looking for a boutique or a stay that feels like a treat I wouldn’t head here.
Clean and modern
Room was a weird shape with loads of stairs. I also had to walk about 5 mins to get to it. I was told I was “upgraded” but they clearly gave me a room no one else wanted. Was also really hot as the air conditioning didn’t work in all the rooms
Well proportioned room, very clean and comfortable. Still feels like a new hotel. Handy location for exploring, food and trains. Great air-conditioning, a must with the high temperatures.
Breakfast had several choices but was a little lacking compared to the rest of the experience
Great location and team. Shout out to Souray at the front desk for some great help.
We visited my granddaughter at Oxford. The hotel is within easy walking calling distance of the school. It was a lovely stay - the desk staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Perfect hotel for visiting Oxford, and well located for day trips into the Cotswolds.
Staff overall were polite and friendly, it was my wife’s birthday while we were there, and they went out of their way to make the day special, thank you.
Air conditioning was wonderful!
Breakfast was good. The room was very clean, with tea etc, the cold water dispenser in corridor was great.
We arrived early, and left our luggage until we could check in. On return there was confusion over where our luggage was, and it took a while for them to locate our bags.
We had the best night’s sleep so far in our 4week UK trip!
Clean
Nothing
The service was great at the hotel. We were especially impressed with Joshua. He was incredibly helpful, friendly and made our trip easier. He provided us with information around restaurants, shopping and transportation within the city. I have food restrictions and he remembered them when providing additional places to eat during our stay. He would ask us what type of food we were looking for and where we would be during the day to find restaurants for that area. Took care of our luggage when our uber arrived to take us to Heathrow which was especially helpful since we had several suitcases and construction was going on and the entrance was blocked.
Had excellent service for breakfast every morning from Kapil and the rest of the staff. Food was good and could get fresh made items like porridge, omelettes, fried eggs, etc. Dinner menu is limited but good food.
