A great hotel with friendly staff that’s in an excellent location.
Pros:

The location was excellent and close to the centre of Oxford and it was also easy to find from the train station.
All of the staff were very polite, welcoming, helpful and appeared happy too. The hotel had a nice atmosphere.
The breakfast had an excellent selection of hot and cold food and was replenished regularly so everything looked fresh. Eggs could be ordered in addition e.g. omelettes. Tables were cleared quickly.
There was a free water bottle refilling station - great as we are in a heatwave.
The hotel was well looked after: clean, tidy and clearly well maintained (no tatty/scuffed walls or paintwork).

Cons:

The pillows were too soft and there wasn’t a replacement set of firmer ones supplied in the room.
The bed was also very soft and bouncy - maybe fine for some but too squishy for me.
The en suite had a glass wall and door rather than a solid wall and conventional door. And the glass door was very wide meaning it took up lots of space as it opened into the bathroom.
Because of the glass it also meant there was no privacy if your partner was ‘using the room’ - you could hear everything!
The mirror in the bathroom wasn’t heated and steamed up quickly and didn’t clear for ages.
The hotel suggested you reused towels but there was no heated towel rail in the room - who wants to reuse damp towels?
There was a dressing table in the room but no mirror. Makes drying hair a bit tricky!
Overall the room seemed poorly lit - plenty of lights but a small window that overlooked other guest windows so no natural light.

Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way
Pros:

We recently stayed six nights in the Courtyard by Marriott in Oxford, using it as a base to tour the region. The hotel neighborhood was very quiet, serene, and well located; but, within a two block walk, shops, restaurants, and entertainment abounded. The hotel was immaculate and the rooms typical of a Courtyard. What was astounding, however, was the level of guest/customer service whereby the cordial multi-national staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Anushka, a senior reservationist, made numerous phone calls on our behalf, arranging private taxis for our custom excursions, making certain that a taxi would be waiting for our return. She was also helpful with restaurant reservations. Although I had booked several tours in advance, Sidd typed out a custom two-page itinerary with suggestions for the attractions and restaurants. Although I offered gratuities, they declined. My husband is a lifetime Platinum member of Marriott so is accustomed to receiving perks and benefits, but the level of personal service was unlike anything we have ever experienced at any hotel.

Nettes Hotel mit guter Lage - Preis-Leistung passt
Pros:

Soweit alles vorhanden, gute Betten, gutes Frühstück, ruhige Lage und trotzdem schnell in der Stadt!

Cons:

Der Parkplatz war etwas weit weg und verhältnismäßig teuer! Das Frühstückspersonal hat sehr lange das benutzte Geschirr nicht weggeräumt- die Gäste haben dann nach und nach das Geschirr auf einem Hochtisch abgestellt, damit man wieder Platz hatte
