My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend celebrating our 24th anniversary. Everything was perfect! The service (from Mario greeting us, answering all our questions, and telling us the history of the building to our bartenders to our waitresses at breakfast) was exceptional, the room was modern and clean, and the rooftop bar/restaurant/pool area was truly special. We explored on foot most mornings and returned in the afternoon to recharge before heading out again. It was easy and inexpensive to take an uber to other neighborhoods like Roma and Polanco when we wanted. I highly recommend tuis hotel! Staying here made for a very special trip.

This is an excellent hotel near Historical Center in Mexico City. The hotel has great rooms (they were very generous with their upgrades for diamond members). Their restaurants, gym and the pool is top notch. What makes this hotel really excellent is the service. A special mention to Felix, who was really helpful through our whole trip. If your want a great expereince in Mexico City, this is the hotel for you.

Excellent and friendly staff. Location is perfect to visit El Zócalo, Museos and many parks and historic places. Attention to detail is impressive and the food incredible I recommend carne asada with a cold beer in the 5th floor. Pura vida!

Amazing experience at Umbral. Everyone was so nice - Felix helped us get checked in and checked us out as well. They were very responsive on WhatsApp with any questions we had.

The room was great, the space is well maintained for being an older building. The shower water pressure was amazing, which I really appreciate. The pool is small but great for lounging, which is what we did while waiting for our room to be ready. Overall the stay was super pleasant and would stay here again next time I’m back!

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Umbral. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help.

The only thing I didn’t like was the taxi service offered by the hotel. I was charged $650 MXN for a basic sedan ride to Benito Juárez International Airport, which is only about 20 minutes away. It was just my son and me, and the price felt like a complete rip-off for such a short trip in a standard vehicle.

I hope the hotel considers reviewing the pricing of this service, as it is excessively expensive for the type of car provided. Aside from that, my overall experience at the hotel was excellent.

We stayed 2 days exploring the city, great location, clean, beautifully built and excellent service! Everyone we encountered was helpful, hospitable and always had great suggestions.(Felix from the front office was very helpful and professional, our maid (unfortunately didn’t get her name was excellent… detailed oriented. Top notch. Hotel is a MUST in CDMX

Shower tiles wereshooting water up at us. Maintenance "fixed" the problem but had the same issue for the rest of our stay.

Wonderful hotel with a great location and excellent staff. Their breakfast and lunch restaurant is outstanding. I love the personality of hotels in historic zone and this has a great personality.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are big and well maintained. The location is perfect.

Very bad, it doesn't deserve to be a Hilton hotel, bad customer service, short staff, takes forever to eat breakfast, shows head was broken it took a whole day and two complains to manager and other staff and taking videos for them to fix it. Had to complain they came and said nothing wrong with it, had to go back and complain again and talk to manager for them and record a video and show them for them to fix it, already showered twice with broken shower head dripping cold water.

I had an amazing stay at Umbral, Curio Collection by Hilton in Mexico City. The hotel was beautiful, spotless, and everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

A special thank you to Manuel, who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond by booking our excursions and giving us the best recommendations for things to do and places to eat. His kindness and outstanding service truly made our trip unforgettable.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mexico City. Between the excellent service, clean accommodations, and welcoming atmosphere, I can't wait to come back!

Shower floor, room floor and washroom floor not cleaned. Pillows was full of black marks, the staff at the front desk was very friendly but the kindness does not fix the cleanliness problems that the hotel has.

In writing this review, I feel I must also send Condé Nast Traveler an email asking how this hotel is on their list of top 31 hotels in CDMX. Staying here gives me pause in trusting their recommendations. Architecturally this place is a stunner. Lots of old world charm. But upon arriving you realize it is a rundown old dinosaur that no doubt was glorious once upon a time. I read several bad reviews but dismissed them because I thought everything looked so great online. This is an example of things look better online than in person. I had their top suite. Run down and sad from days gone by. The old Lutron Lighting did not work properly. If you wanted a single light on: forget. Hit whichever button, and every light came on. Also motion sensor light in bathroom super annoying. Comes on every time you enter bathroom. Awful in the middle of the night. Smoke detector went off middle of the night. Instead of changing batteries they simply came and took it away! From the first time I used the toilet it would not flush properly. I had to call the front desk for a plunger. Every day at some point I had to use the plunger to unstop the toilet. Now I know this is Mexico, but come on! And finally, this is absolutely the noisiest hotel I have EVER stayed in. On the top floor is the bar/restaurant/pool. Any noise or music (because of design of the hotel) drifts down (it is open air) to all the floors below. They had a wedding reception that lasted over 12 hours. My room vibrated, yes vibrated, with the bass and tremendously loud music. It was wrong and entirely rude and unfair for all the guest in the hotel. My room was almost $500 at night. The only saving grace is the staff. They are kind and try very hard to help. But in the face of so much adversity, that is not an easy task. There is an Ojo de Aqua chain restaurant attached to the hotel. I would like to give praise to Roberto and Jackie for making my mornings special. I will never stay in the hotel during future trips to CDMX.

I stayed 12 days for business purposes and all went well. Rooms are clean, the rooftop and restaurant are nice and staff is great.

Everyone at Umbral was incredibly friendly and kind. The hotel has excellent amenities and is always kept spotless by the housekeeping staff.
The hotel is near many wonderful restaurants, museums, and other tourist spots as well as public transportation hubs.

Wonderful hotel, chic rooms, centrally located, and ideal for World Cup games. I was actually ill with food poisoning during the trip and I have to mention, Mario and Felix, who were so helpful in sourcing a doctor and medications. They really went above and beyond to help.

From the moment we arrived until check-out, the attention to detail was exceptional. The service was outstanding throughout our stay. We had to leave very early on Sunday morning, around 3:00 AM, and informed the staff that we would miss breakfast. To our surprise, they thoughtfully prepared a to-go breakfast for us, complete with a breakfast sandwich, coffee, fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Our room was spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully organized. The lighting was excellent, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

As an added bonus, the hotel featured a charming mini art gallery, which gave the property a unique character and made our stay feel even more special.

This level of hospitality truly made our stay memorable. Thank you to the entire team for going above and beyond. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and a wonderful guest experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
