My niece normally does coach holidays with her partner and friends, however her partner was unavailable for the trip that they had booked and she asked me to go with her, boy am i glad she did. We came to the Imperial, i must admit i was a bit sceptical, never having done a coach holiday before. When we pulled up to the hotel i was very impressed by the beautiful victorian building, the upkeep of which is immaculate. From then on the Imperial continued to impress me, the rooms were bright, clean, with lovely bedlinen, the bathroom was large, spotlessly clean and the water pressure and temperature very good. When it came to food service i was amazed, the efficiency of the staff, the temperature and quality of the food couldnt be faulted, i have been in the food industry most of my working life by the way, The whole experience was enhanced by the very friendly and capable staff, i wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone .the only drawbacks i found were that the lifts arent adequate for the size of the hotel, and there is no covered smoking area, but that is trivial . thank you The Imperial and your wonderful staff for a great holiday.
A very comfortable warm hotel.Lovely staff and professionally organised.Good location.Only gripe we where on the fourth floor.Along with 30 to 50 others. And at meal times the lifts couldn't cater for this number.Luckily both be an my wife can still manage the stairs. But some people are dependent on the lift
We stayed here recently. The room was very basic. Curtains were awful, very old, and they didn't fit the windows fully, so one side of the window was not covered in both the bathroom and room. The curtains in the room were long down to the ground and covered the radiators, so we had to put them up to the window ledge so the heat could get into the room. You couldn't turn off or adjust the settings on the radiators. Why do you put curtains in a bathroom that is beyond us? You could do with putting a blind in the bathroom.. But the curtains looked very old and looked like they had been in these rooms for years.
Maybe when they built the building, We was in a twin bedroom a first for us bedding and towels were clean but one of the sheets had an hole in it.. . The lifts are very small. They can only fit 3 people at one time. but I suppose that's what you get when you stay in an old building.. However, the food, especially the roast dinners, is basic and veg tastes like they are from frozen. There were some quests who went out for dinner.. It was good that you could purchase half-price bar 3 of the nights.. The staff are friendly, but if we did go back to this hotel we would not want to stay in a room like this again.. We have been going to Daish's hotels for about 12 - 15 years, especially the Russell Hotel in weymouth. Next time, we hope to stop in the Regent Hotel.. Now we have been to all Daish's hotels, I can't see us coming back to this one. Sorry
Lovely stay at The Imperial Hotel, Eastbourne.
Location is perfect! Room was huge for 2 of us, house keepers kept it spotless and replenished all the extras like tea, coffee, towels etc...
All staff were lovely. Hee especially, can't fault her. Happy, chatty & couldn't do enough to help during meal times.
The only downside and the reason I gave 4 stars is the food... The menu is poor! Alot of the food you can tell is frozen which is fine just a shame alot of it is cold.
My one suggestion is don't come in the winter periods.
I'd visit again but in the summer months.
Visited for a 5 day break with Daishs. Room was really spacious, quiet and immaculately furnished with quality linen. Food was superb, Coq au Vin, Cod Mornay, outstanding as are all the 7 previous Daish hotels I have visited. It's very difficult to cater for 120 Pensioners at the same time, but Monika, our waitress, was absolutely amazing, and very industrious. Credit is also due to Ulmira, who I remembered was really efficient at my last visit June 2025.
The general organisation showed a continual high standard and I couldn't fault the whole 4 days I was there. Eastbourne is a nice place and made even more enjoyable by the universal high standard of Daish organisational skills which are considerable.
An excellent break at the Imperial. Thank You David and your team.
Room was comfortable, warm and well serviced each day. Thanks to the housekeeping team on the second floor.
Service in the restaurant was very good (thank you Ewhila, apologies for spelling), the relaxing of times for breakfast is an great improvement. Only one dinner was a little off the usual standard but other than that, no complaints at all.
Bar and evening entertainment was good, Well done Keith, he was on duty most nights.
Coach travel was first class, our journey to Eastbourne began in deep snow, but Martin the driver was excellent and was only 15 mins late. Considering everything in the Midlands from Wolverhampton south was snowbound, he did very well. Thank You.
We look forward to returning later in the year.
Self contained flat. More than we were expecting
Spent Christmas at this hotel . We had a warm welcome and met with coffee and mince pies. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a sea view and a powerful shower. The meals at home the hotel was excellent . Lots of variety and presented well . There was a separate dish for vegetables which was a nice touch . The service was excellent too very pleasant waitress and couldn’t do enough for us we were on table 35a . The bar and concert room was nice although very busy as the hotel was full and obviously with being Christmas mos people stayed in the hotel at night . The entertainment was ok perhaps could have had a little more variety as the same songs every night albeit by different singers. But they did get the guests dancing. I would totally recommend this hotel and will be returning again in fact I’ve already put in my request for next christmas
4 of us, two couples, have just returned from our first Christmas Break at The Imperial Hotel, Eastbourne and we all agreed we had a good time. From a swift check in with a welcome mince pie, biscuits and sweets to set the seasonal atmosphere.
We had no real complaints regarding our room although I feel the memory foam mattress seems to be near the end of it's life although not uncomfortable.
Meal times as usual organised with precision so no long waiting for meals to arrive. Meals were hot and well cooked although sometimes a little to much on the plate for me, two slices of meat and two roast potatoes would have been sufficient.
Plenty of entertainment to keep people entertained.
People on reception were friendly and had answers to any queries we had i.e. closest bus stops etc.
I only have one constructive criticism, that is in the evening before the restaurant opens there is not enough seating for anyone who would like a drink before their meal so a lot of people are left standing while there is quite a queue waiting at the bar.
Perhaps the ballroom bar could be opened at 5/5.30pm so we could get a drink and sit comfortably while waiting for the restaurant to open. Maybe an opportunity missed as we ended up staying in our room until 6.30pm when we would have preferred to have had an aperitif.
However we enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next Christmas. We are also back on the 17th to 21st January for another break and looking forward to it.
This was a first for us. The staff (especially Elwira) were excellent, the food delicious - too much for us! But we found the heat in the bedroom (2nd floor) was too much and we had to open the window . On trying to open the door to get more air I personally couldn't do it because the doors are so heavy (fire door) and there's only the yale lock to hold. Panic set in. Also the time waiting for the lifts is so annoying and then only 3 people (in our case only us 2 as I have a walker) In the basement where the entertainment is, this too is very claustrophobic when everyone is down there.
MUST SAY EVERYTHING ELSE WAS SPOT ON.
So we think you should: 1) Put proper handles on the doors because older people find them hard to open. 2)Turn the heat down.
Just returned from a 5 day holiday with Daish's coaches and I have to say it is one of the best holidays I have ever been on . I cannot fault anything about the time spent with Daish's . The room was really clean and well equipped , the bed was just right and the bathroom was spacious . The food was excellent and not small portions either , always hot and plenty of choice . The staff could not do enough for you and they were very hard working and polite . I also found the other passengers extremely friendly and I made some really good friends . The entertainment was very good and varied . I will be booking again as soon as I am able .
Where to start this review? Location good near sea front not far from train station, bus stops also nearby. Great coach drivers. Plenty of hot water.
Well thats the positives over with.
Now for the negatives.
A tired worn hotel well past its best in serious need of refurbishment.
Worn torn carpets
Stiflingly hot in rooms
Peeling paint work
Wifi only available in communal rooms downstairs and that is sporadic
Food inedible very cheap quality, we were DBB and had to eat out in the evening
Not all staff were friendly, our waitress was quite rude
We wouldn’t stay there again
Stayed from 9th nov 4 nights , very good trip from the Isle of Wight ,great location near shopping centre..we had tinsel and turkey great atmosphere ll staff helpful and friendly nothing is to much trouble. Went with friends had rooms 223 and 222 very good excellent shower ,did find the rooms very hot even though we had the heating turned off . Good meal menu each day great value.great entertainment each evening Looking forward to our next trip
I went with laindon over 50s club,5th nov 2025untill 9th nov,we were happy with our room 3006,but not happy with the low bath,as i could get in it,but not out, went to reception and they sorted it right away, there was a shower room just a few doors away,i loved the fact we had a separete shower, toilet,we could look out of our window and see the sea, we were blessed with beautiful weather, our main waitress, i cant remember her name,we were table 29,she was tall blonde, from poland, she was so lovely, nothing was too much for her,the bar prices were Amazing,i had double house vodka and coke£5, the staff over all were so.good did not touch my luggage untill i emptied it once delivered to my room, and again to take it to my car at laindon, the food was so good,i would only say we had to ask for our tea and coffee pots to be replaced with fresh ones, the only thing i would say about the entertainment is do just one lot of Bingo, then say to your people, dont get us all up dancing, then clear the dance floor by putting slow music on,keep in mind a lot of our age group have lost the person who we would do the slow dancing with,i know its hard as you have to try and keep everyone happy, having said that,it was my first turkey and tinsell experience, the entertainment, once they knew we were there to have fun were brilliant,i think they loved us dancing and having so much fun,it made them as happy as we were, well done all the lovely staff at imperial,be proud of yourselves
Lovely holiday from pick up to drop off. Comfortable coach with friendly helpful driver, to arrive to lovely welcome. Room with no dressing table, but small table and mirrors so OK. Good food and entertainment, with all staff going out of there way to help when needed. Enjoyed so much will be there again shortly.
