Beautiful location near the seafront. Stunning views. Clean and tidy room.
Only thing that prevented me giving a 10 overall was the bath/shower configuration. The shower is at an awkward angle and it is difficult to adjust the water temperature when shower is running due to the curtain in front of taps. I slipped while doing this. No harm done but worth mentioning.
Near the sea
Nice view some staff helpful
Dated, needed a good clean and hoover.
Breakfast poor, disorganised didn’t have many things like orange juice for instance, coffee machine not working
Bar staff were super friendly and fun
Breakfast service was chaotic and disorganised
The sea views, happy hour, cafe, breakfast
The room was dirty, dust in wardrobes, thick cobwebs, plug was broken so as soon put water in it would slowly empty and the shower head could not adjust as was stuck so could not make it higher or lower. Cleaner forgot to put toilet roll in our room on sunday so had to ask reception. The furniture in our room is outdated and drawers and wardrobes hard to open and close plus our shelf the tv was on was made out of a piece of wardrobe and could tell as had the grooves on and windows did not open and shut proparly. We did not book a evening meal but some hotels been to let you pay seperate did ask but no so had to get dinner elsewhere and lunch as yes had a cafe but open from 10am till 3pm so if wanted to go out for a whole day you couldnt as had to make it in time for lunch.
The clifftop setting - but the famous 'beach lift' was not working! We liked leaving.
It was a warm day - about 33 degrees. The room we were allocated faced the afternoon sun, and the curtains had not been drawn, so the room was appallingly hot. There was no cooling. We were offered a tiny, ineffectual fan. This was not acceptable. There was inadequate parking. The rooms were tired and outdated.
Near the beach
Dirty staff didn’t help. Breakfast was awful
The view out of the front
The bedrooms are tired, furniture worn out, carpets poor, (worn out in placed as shown in the picture) stained and overall decor has been let go. Lots of signs of wear and tear.
Breakfast only severed between 8.30am and 9.30am even on a Sunday. When arrived for breakfast - the staff were overrun and one couple even advised they had to book breakfast at reception - felt like chaos. My first bedroom - when the room above used a pump of some type the noise was terrible so asked to be moved. The sun on the windows turned the bedroom into a sauna. ~The window locks were broken so you couldn’t go out and leave a window open - as the window was next to a walkway. No air conditioning. The hotel didn’t serve evening meals - not even bar snacks.
Good location great staff
Great location, clean. helpful and friendly staff.
The barman was a bit grumpy but it didn't spoil our evening
Our family had an amazing stay at Ocean View Hotel during our first visit to the Isle of Wight. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning sea views, and the hotel is clean, peaceful, and very well maintained. Our room was spotless, spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
A special thank you to the wonderful receptionists Harry and Manjot for their warm welcome, kindness, and professionalism. We would also like to thank Chy and Chris from the restaurant breakfast team for their outstanding service. They were friendly, attentive, and made every morning a pleasure. The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.
The hospitality from every member of staff was exceptional. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. This hotel made our family’s first trip to the Isle of Wight truly unforgettable, and we created memories that will stay with us forever. We highly recommend Ocean View Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Nothing at all. Everything exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic stay from start to finish.
Nothing there to like
No cleaning

Nice location
Food
Gute Lage mit Seeblick. Großes Bad und Zimmer mit Terrasse.
Absolut in die Jahre gekommen! Mageres Frühstück. Schwimmbad geschlossen.
Die Internet Seite zeigt eine falsche Wirklichkeit!
The property was okay very old in date the Bar manager was very poor. We came down to get a drink at 10:45 on the Friday night only to get told the Bar is closed because he is too busy yet. The karaoke music was going on till midnight, our room was right above the bar and it was extremely noisy. We wouldn’t have minded if we could’ve sat down in the bar and had a drink but we got told that he was too busy and that the bar was closed. Very poor customer service.
Also, the TV was not working in our room. We got told it was going to be sorted out on the Friday and then again on the Saturday so we had to find somewhere else to go and watch the football as we did not want to use the Bar in the hotel because there was a wedding on and it was the same person and working behind the bar so we probably wouldn’t have got served again anyway
I liked that the room was big and I had a great view from the balcony.
There was only 2 of each of cups, glasses and towels in a room booked for 3 people, had to go and ask at reception personally because they also never picked up the phone when I called. Also there was no furniture on my balcony, (there was some chairs at some balconies), and there was a lot of bird poo too.
