The hotel location was right nex to the Brandenbeefer Tor and walking distance to many activities. The breakfast buffet is the best I have experienced—service, number of choices, and quality of food. The food offered was vwey upscale including 3 kinds of caviar if that is on you list.
Have just returned from a 5 night stay in this hotel, and have mixed feelings about it.
Even though I booked a twin bedded room, we were given a double room. Advised check-in about this, and the issue was quickly dealt with. Then hairs were found in one of the supposedly newly made beds. So again check-in were informed, and housekeeping arrived within minutes to change all of the bedding.
One of the sinks in the bathroom was badly blocked so the water was extremely slow to drain away. To get the flush to work you had to stand there holding it in, tiles in the shower were cracked/damaged, and no bin in the bathroom.
Wouldn't recommend paying out for the Adlon package which included a ''free'' meal, as they don't advise you that it's a set menu with no other option unless you pay for it, and a cheap bottle of wine. If you have this package a candle will be lit and put onto the table to signal this to staff, which we found somewhat demeaning.
With the exception of one of the waitresses serving breakfast who had a bad and abrupt attitude who would slam items down onto the table, the staff were good, and generally friendly, especially the team working in the Lobby bar on the evenings who were great, and helpful.
Overall, despite the cons mentioned above we would stay at the Hotel Adlon again as we now know what to expect, as it is a nice hotel which does need some TLC, and set in a good location.
Sehr guter Service, freundliches Person, immer ansprechbar,
Sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück,
Beide Restaurants empfehlenswert
Konsistent erste Klasse.
