Comfortable room, but extremely disappointing treatment of paying residents.
Pros:

The room itself was comfortable and the hotel was in a convenient location. Unfortunately, our experience later in the evening completely overshadowed the positive parts of our stay.

Cons:

There were no reception staff available when we needed assistance. We went to the bar and were refused another drink, but were specifically told to come back in half an hour for the residents’ bar. When we returned as instructed, we were treated very poorly and made to feel extremely unwelcome. What made this particularly disappointing was seeing the owner and his friends able to continue drinking while paying hotel residents were being treated this way. We were staying overnight at the hotel and expected to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. It left us feeling embarrassed and very disappointed with our stay.

Cons:

The food was not good. Dinner was very overcooked & the small breakfast was bad... all I could eat was the beans 😪

Lovely stay on the Fir Trees. Professional and courteous staff. Breakfast was good and made to order and the location was great!!
