Halios Hotel Halong

After the check-in and before the checkout, everything was really good - 👍

We were expecting a beach front hotel. The beach is 6km away. The room was small, service shocking, breakfast basic and staff un inviting. We were booked for 6 nights and moved after 1 night. The hotel would not refund our money. The accommodation was falsely advertised and a disappointment. We also expected a pool, but there is no pool.

Classic Double Room - 4nights
If you like being in the middle of nowhere and quiet location.
Bathroom small, you may struggle if you're on the bigger size of body shape, toilet is right next to shower screen, very narrow space.
Breakfast buffet was non-existence. Choice of pho or 2 eggs, 1 sausage, sliced cucumbers, 2 barely toasted sliced bread. But it was cooked on demand so its freshly made. Coffee was thick and bitter. Dessert was tub of yoghurt or watermelon fruit only.

Minimal local eatery around hotel that tend to open around 6.30pm at dinner.

Reception staff are clueless to what's around the area and failed to tell us that the limited food places are closed for siesta when we wanted a late lunch at 2.30pm after arriving from the airport.
Lucky we had a 2day 1 night cruise as we struggle finding places to eat for 2 days. We ended up forfeiting 1 night to move to our next destination earlier due to the lack of activities and roaming around looking for lunch and dinner. Hotel restaurant isnt even opened during lunch or dinner.
Vincom plaza is within walking distance just over 1km down the road.

Stayed three nights in this classy hotel in close proximity to the amazing ha long bay limestone towers as well as the amazing and fun filled Sun World. The hotel was immaculate and the staff was warm and professional especially the dining room staff who went above and beyond to see to our needs. Highly recommend this hotel.

First I must say the negatives here are minor and the customer service was most definitely 5 stars. Quick with the negatives; housekeeping put a torn sheet on the bed. Pet peeve of mine I hate to see. There is no shower stall but a large tub almost 3 feet deep. Treacherous to get in and out of; no shower curtain; room gets flooded and the floor is slick; not a fan.
That’s it. Everything else was amazing people skills by the front desk and the dining room. They all went above and beyond to see that all my needs were met; consistent customer service. I can not say thank you enough. Highly recommend.

The rooms are beautifully designed and extremely clean. The service attitude of the staff is very enthusiastic. I think that the hotel has very good customer service. I really like this hotel. If I come back to Ha Long, I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is quite centrally located, which is not far from restaurants and a short drive to the shopping centre. The room is large, with breakfast included, but we did not eat breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on the quality.

I booked the room via Booking.com, and provided an international mobile number (with my country code). Apparently the reception has tried to called me, but they called an international number with Vietnamese country code. So of course they couldn't reach me and then they cancelled my booking. I received a notification from Booking.com that my booking was cancelled and had I to contact the hotel. When asked why they cancelled my booking, I got a cold answer. It was because I didn't answer the phone so they thought I wouldn't showed up, and they are scared that the room cannot be rent out. Very lazily done by the hotel staff for not being able to send a message on Booking.com when you are unable to contact the customer on mobile.

Ok hotel for money and in fairly good position to walk to shops, diners and harbour. A couple of things were disappointing including some indifferent staff ( there were some great ones as well ) a shower over bath with no screen so impossible not to flood bathroom and. ‘Balcony’ which isn’t really a balcony. Rooftop bar closed.
Breakfast menu was limited but what was on offer was ok. The area is very quiet due to post Covid ? So hopefully picks up soon. Wasn’t really made to feel welcome by staff, local business owners or locals for that matter, probably wouldn’t stay again as heaps of competition in area.

The hotel exceeded my expectation. The room was very new, modern, and really comfortable. There was a small safe inside the wardrobe to keep valuable things. Location is closer to the city rather than the beach, and I prefer it that way. Breakfast was good and staffs were very friendly.
