I have stayed here numerous times. The hotel has lots of character and reflects the period built. Glad to see the Coal Cafe as much needed. Please fix the elevator! The rooms need updating. The windows desperately need cleaning. You could see a view of the mountains if clean. Management seems to have things moving in the right direction so keep it up.
The hotel lobby is very nice and the room was clean. The elevator didn’t work and the parking garage
Great older hotel. Lots of history about it displayed. It's nearly 100 years old and we'll taken care of. Staff is excellent! Nothing but praise for our stay here.
This was certainly an interesting property. I loved the telephone that you used to summon assistance. It had charm, cleanliness. I wish the cafe had been open during my visit. It is rather noisy, but I rather enjoyed pretending what staying here must have been like 80 years ago, listening in on snipets of conversation, observing the fashions. Staff was most helpful. What a delight.
An enjoyable legacy hotel.
In town for family events. All of us stayed here and they were very accommodating and friendly. It couldn’t have been better for our group. Thanks very much!!
Pleasant stay and will return.
Although there is not a whole lot to do around the town, we still enjoyed our stay at Mountaineer Hotel! Staff was super friendly, game room is fun if pool is your game of choice!
Rose were small but clean it's an older facility but and good shape the stay was good
Always great ataying at the Mountaineer. Always clean and the staff are amazing.
It was located in a good area and the room was nice and tidy.
Elevator wasnt working most of the time, water was luke warm, over booked the hotel for my double room, parking garage was always full of atv’s and no room for guests to park, didnt have my second night reservation and then charged my card twice
The hotel and room were spectacular. Unfortunately, the one elevator stopped working around midnight and we had to use the stairs from the 4th floor to access our room.
This is a historic building with a lot of character. Great staff. Breakfast is not available on site.
Stayed at the hotel as it was close to the trails. Great location very nice place and friendly staff.
I called to cancel my stay with the hotel directly and they told me the room was cancelled, my card was then charged the next day. I called back to the hotel and they said that I needed to cancel with Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel and they said that they could not honor a refund because I did not cancel with Expedia. I was never told initially by the hotel that I needed to cancel with Expedia, this would have been nice to know. I was charged full price for the entire weekened even though the hotel was notified. I am very disappointed in the customer service this hotel provided.
The historic facilities are interesting. The staff was happy and helpful. The building is amazing.
The only issue i had was the first room i booked only had a double bed. After the firat night upgraded to a queen and slet like a baby
It was my fiancees 20 yr class reunion and we needed a room. We booked this place for $128 for one night way overpriced. The lady at check in was not very friendly , the room was very small and the bed was very uncomfortable. Not impressed at all....Next time we will book early and stay at the Tug Valley B&B.
