The location is right on the border of the Spanish Quarter of Naples. The entrance was a little hard to find. It is in an alley between outside seating of two different restaurants. If you arrive after 6 or 7PM you will have to ring the buzzer of the hotel. The same entrance is used for apartments in other parts of the building - it is a large building.
Trying to find the entrance was a challenge - just remember It is in an alley (Piazzetta Matilde Serao) between outside seating of two different restaurants. It is a large wood door with a multi-button gold box intercom next to the door.Press the Hotel Matilde button if coming at night and they will buzz you in. Take the stairs to the second floor to the hotel entrance.
Pulizia, arredamento nuovo e moderno. Staff molto gentile e colazione perfetta ed abbondante.
L’ingresso non è facilmente intuibile, sembra di entrare in un condominio privato più che in un hotel. Comunque poi arrivando in hotel si resta positivamente meravigliati dallo stile e dalla gentilezza di tutti

Lovely modern hotel in a very central, convenient location. The breakfast was good. All the staff were incredibly helpful. The rooms can be a little noisy if one is sensitive to sound. For example around 5am I would hear workers on the street below setting up the restaurant tables etc but this didn’t bother me too much as I am an early riser.
Upon check-in I was upgraded to a superior room which was incredibly spacious with a nice large bathroom and an amazing shower.
I really can’t fault the hotel or the city. Loved every second.

Wonderful, extremely clean, and modern hotel. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The staff were helpful and kind as well. Luigi was especially helpful! Great location. Just be aware that you have to walk to the hotel from the Main Street, but it’s not a far walk. Would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely boutique hotel, a bit of a challenge to find but luckily our driver knew where the entrance was. The entrance is old wooden double doors leading to a multi occupied building.
Hotel Matilde is on the second floor. The lift is old but was useful for our luggage. The foyer and staircase was damp smelling and a bit off-putting to be frank. But then you reach the automatic doors to the glorious Hotel Matilde and it is fabulous. Beautiful decor and rooms. The lovely Luigi was there to greet and assist and the room was spacious and well air-conditioned. The view onto the mall was stunning.
The lady on the reception desk in the morning was lovely. The breakfast was continental and decent. I did find the female server at the bar a bit standoffish. She looked disgruntled if you asked for a coffee but that was the only way you could get one and didn't give me milk after asking so I helped myself. They should put a milk jug out. For simplicity we ordered cappuccinos the next 2 mornings.
All in all a great hotel, good location and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
