Great location not far from M5 broke up the journey to Cornwall hotel set in nice surroundings with a view of the countryside
Everything was very nice, The manager was exceptual and
very helpful.
Really nice place to stay. Nice area, quiet location, good facilities. Double rooms have lots of space. Comfortable bed.
The hotel was ok, we stayed in a family ground floor room, it smelled fusty of damp and the littke things coukd have been better, like a cafe net up the cloak room was mucky n corners of window n sill mucky, beds were great sheets clean but just a bit outdated, that said staff were fab and woukd stay again. The family in the room above room 1 were bloody noisy though
Lovely quiet little place.
The owner and host was very welcoming and and a wonderful character, sharing his family history making us feel like old friends.
Our ensuite room was very clean with everything we needed to make for a comfortable overnight visit.
Very friendly and welcoming and food was great and just a overall great experience
Unfortunately only bottled drinks on the bar. Very confined location but good value for money at only £68 for an overnight stay. Room was clean and warm, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere. Won't recommend if you're dependent on public transport. The staff was lovely and very helpful for finding me a taxi.
Price was right
We arrived late at the hotel after our plane was delayed into Bristol.
The hotel looked ok on reviews and was close to an appointment the next day - what a disappointment though when we got into the room no1.
It smelt extremely musty, the wallpaper behind the bed had holes in it and the bathroom was like something out of a hospital.
No soaps or basic bathroom provisions you come to expect from even budget hotels.
The bed was rock hard the mattress had seen better days - we woke to a view of building rubble and a van outside the bedroom window.
All in all a very poor nights sleep in a below par room - there wasn’t a member of staff at reception on our departure otherwise I would have vented there and then.
I’m not one for complaining and I appreciate £100 for one night isn’t a massive amount but the combination of smell, awful bed and hospital esque bathroom I cannot recommend staying at this hotel especially room 1. The other room images looked good .
Lovely welcome. Lovely breakfast. Nice and quiet considering there is a busy road not so far away. However bed not great. It was on casters so rolled all over the place not a great sleep but ok for one night.
It was very quaint staff nice bed comfortable. No chef at the moment you can have breakfast nice bar.
It is a lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings and very easy to get to from the M5. My slight gripe is that I had a constant humming noise in my room which didn’t stop all night. The room itself was very small only just enough space for a single person and some of the furniture was falling apart. But the people who work there are friendly and warm and I couldn’t fault the service and pleasant attitude.
Superb place to stay, just off the main road up a long drive and so very quiet. Very comfortable room - didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food but the menu looked good.
Only tiny bugbear was that there was a small bar of soap but no shampoo provided, which is a rarity nowadays in such an upmarket establishment. All in all, a great place to stay with really easy roads to the motorway.
The hotel was adequate. A convenient location. Clean rooms. Good shower. But there clearly hasn't been any investment for years, so the furnishings and decor were old and tired. The staff were friendly but slow. We didn't eat there. And wouldn't stay there again.
A nice well located hotel. Ideal for travellers, as just off the motor way. The only downside is that it doesn't have a restaurant.
Beautiful location lovely hotel. Everything was perfect hosts were very nice too.
First of all I overpaid for a rubbish family room that had no lock to the kids attached bedroom. It just says fire exit but anyone can open the door from outside. I had no sleep all night because my kids were too scared to sleep there so they were in our tiny bed.
I chatted with the lovey hotel.com agent Christine who was very helpful and she told me the hotel initially agreed to refund the unused night, so I checekd our next morning only to findout later he refused the refund and called a liar.
I phoned up the Manager who denied everything but slipped from his mouth thay I wasn't the only parent that complaint about the door. The drawers in my kids room just fell apart when my son tried to open it and even that when we mentioned he was surprised as if we were lying. My biggest regret is not taking pictures/ video to prove it. Run down rubbish with a very rude receptionist who also lied saying "why dont you chcke out and we will give you thw refund later when manager is awake" then completely went missing. This place was totally overpriced. I only stayed a night and lost £122 which I wouldnt have even paid just £30 for a night. Absolutely rubish and Dissapointing stay.
Please make a note of this hotel so this will not happen again.
A restaurant that didn’t serve food (no chefs) Breakfast that took just a bit too long. Poor outside lighting for an evening drink.
Feelings of isolation - where are the people!
Could be so much better - if you survive that lot the sheep at the back get on your nerves.
I didn’t feel like I was staying in a hotel…
