I enjoyed my stay and found the staff welcoming and friendly, particularly at breakfast.
Pros:

Comfortable bed and spacious room. Dog friendly

Cons:

The room was noisy during the evening as there were people drinking at tables outside and the window was single glazed.

Very sour experience.
Pros:

Nicely updated heritage building.

Cons:

Trash from previous guests left on dresser in our room. Our evening meal took over an hour to arrive, far far longer than other guests. Even after we alerted staff to the problem, our order wasn’t expedited. We received only 10% off our order, not even enough to pay for a cup of coffee. Where I live, it is common in such an unhappy situation to receive at least a free dessert or a much larger discount. We didn’t have breakfast at the property as service didn’t start until 8:30, far too late for walkers ( the hotel is right on Offa’s Dyke Trail and that was key in our selecting this hotel).
