This place has a lot to offer but in the middle of nowhere.
Pros:

I didn’t have breakfast. The buffet smelled good and a little pricey at 28 dollars a person.

Cons:

The rooms are clean but outdated.

Nice hotel - Hard Beds
Pros:

Booked a large group at this hotel. The hotel is great but many ppl in my group complained about the hard beds. Love how quiet the area is, and the bar / restaurant was good. Would stay again but the beds really are VERY hard. The rooms are not huge, but clean and quiet. Cell service is not the best, but they have Wifi.

Service is Lacking
Pros:

Stayed at this hotel during a special event when hotel was charging $500/night.
On first day, left room at 10:00am. When returned at approximately 5:00pm to changed clothes, room had not been serviced. Called the main desk and told that the room needed service and I was leaving for dinner. Told it would be serviced. When returned that evening room had not been serviced.

If you going to charge a premium rate, you should provide premium service.

The service at Princeton Marriott at Forestal failed. Instead paying a premium, you should just go to a Motel 6.

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff, but please change or turn off your music!!
Pros:

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent staff, nice rooms, and comfortable beds. Great indoor pool with skylights and many windows surrounded by woods. The M Club is nice too, but be forewarned that it closes at 5pm on Fridays and does not reopen until 4pm Sundays.

We had a couple issues during our stay; our room door wouldn’t lock so we had to have an engineer come fix it, and management kindly moved us to a different room. Then my husband forgot his CPAP machine in the bedside table, but housekeeping was able to retrieve it after we had checked out. When we came by to pick it up, we ended up staying another night because we liked the property so much.

My one complaint, which may seem picky but could be important to many guests, is the incessant, repetitive vocal music in all public areas (lobby, restaurant, MClub, and even the pool). I didn’t care for the style, and I found myself wanting to leave breakfast/restaurant/MClub/pool sooner than I would have otherwise just to escape the sound. It’s such a shame, because the hotel is situated in such a peaceful area. If they had softer instrumental music instead of vocals, that in itself would be an improvement. I couldn’t relax, and it honestly makes me think twice about returning. I’m a Titanium member and have stayed at hundreds of Bonvoy properties, but I don’t recall ever encountering this issue elsewhere. A request to management: please consider changing your music to something more relaxing!!!

Just as good as I remembered... when I was younger
Pros:

A Wonderful Stay at the Marriott Princeton Forrestal — With One Thoughtful Suggestion

I recently stayed at the Marriott Princeton Forrestal while attending a conference I last enjoyed fifteen years ago, and I’m so glad I returned. From the moment I arrived, the staff set a welcoming tone. Julia made check‑in smooth, easy, and pleasant, and Frantz was just as helpful and gracious during check‑out. Their professionalism and kindness truly stood out.

My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, exactly what you hope for during a multi‑day conference. I did, however, discover that my room was about 175 steps from the elevator, down what felt like three hallways. While I don’t want to sound agist, I do think the Front Desk might consider the age or mobility of guests when assigning rooms — especially those with bulky luggage or, like me, recovering from a recent hip replacement. The walk was… formidable. I did mention it to Julia, and she kindly offered to move me, but by then I had already unpacked. Her willingness to help was appreciated.

The restaurant exceeded expectations for a hotel lobby eatery. I ordered something I rarely choose in restaurants — a cheeseburger — and I’m glad I did. It was juicy, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. Kyle, who was working at an Olympian pace, never missed a beat. His service was attentive, upbeat, and impressive.

As for the conference itself, the coffee breaks were excellent, and for anyone who has been to this property before and wonders: Yes, they still have those fresh‑tasting, super‑sized potato chips. They remain as addictive as ever.

Overall, my stay at the Marriott Forrestal was comfortable, welcoming, and well‑supported by an outstanding staff. With just a bit more attention to room placement for guests with mobility concerns, it would be close to perfect. I would absolutely stay again.
