Everything
This was a fantastic stay. The staff were lovely throughout, afternoon teas was outstanding the we were very kindly upgraded and the room was unreal.
Leaving !
Very traditional English hotel
Nothing
Classic British Hospitality. Size of Room was good. Staff were all lovely, if not a little pompous for this Australian. Location is otherwise ok provided Kensington is where you want to be. Kensington Palace is just over the road. If it's your first time to London then I would stay elsewhere.
There was a smell in the corridor and my room that just put my experience at unease and that didn't leave me. I had intended to stay 4 nights but only stayed 2 nights despite the offer of a room upgrade. I thought it must have been a smoking room but I think the smell was just the smell of the hotel? My Deluxe King room was a good size. Upon entering the room there was a small flight of stairs which gave the room some interest. Overall a nice room but perhaps because of the smell, the decor fell flat. On my first morning I was surprised to find that there was no coffee making facilities in the room. I can't remember the last hotel that didn't have coffee making facilities in the room. It wasn't until the following afternoon that I found a small sign on the desk to say that they offered complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. When it did arrive it was in a box and the plunger coffee was actually very good. That would have been nice to know upon check in mind you. While increasingly normal in London, gratuity was added to my bill. I find that a bit off especially since my stay offered little interaction requiring a tip. Overall I didn't really use the hotel much. I would have enjoyed afternoon tea but at 80 pounds and that was just too steep for me. The room rate itself was ok. But to eat and drink in the hotel just felt too expensive.
