Nice breakfast but no working bath tub as promised.

I soecifically adked to have a bath tub and was assured I would. The room indeed had a tub but it was unuseable as the drain stopper wasccorroded out such that the flange would not, could not seal the tub, so was worthless for a bath. Obviously I couldnt change rooms as I bathe in the mornings and had to leave for my appointment. I dont know how they could miss a nonfunctioining drain (I even tried stuffing it with cloths to no avail as they wouldnt hold) but I made sure to i form them when I checked out.

Great Location, But Sports Teams Made It Unbearable
Pros:

The hotel is in a good location and the price was very reasonable. The room itself was okay, though it felt quite dark. The bathroom was painfully small with little to no counter space, which made it inconvenient to use. While the room seemed fairly clean overall, I was disappointed to find a large stain on the mattress.

The free breakfast was a positive — it was hot and had good options.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the noise. A full sports team checked in during my stay, and they were placed not only across from my room, but all around my room, including both rooms next door. From the moment they arrived, kids were running in the halls, screaming, and knocking on doors. On top of that, the rooms where the sports teams were staying were left open for hours with people talking loudly and playing music. Once all the kids finally settled down, the parents were up talking loudly and slamming doors late into the night.

Road noise was also fairly loud (thankfully I had a white noise machine).

While the price and location were good, the overall experience was disappointing. With so many other hotel options in the area, I would choose to stay elsewhere next time.

What a great stay under medical stress!
Pros:

This hotel was amazing! We were able to check in 5 hours early, which was such a blessing as I was having eye surgery, at a local facility. The reason for our stay was for medical. I was so comforted being able to check in early and get settled and calm before my surgery. The front desk lady was super friendly and polite, and put my mind at ease. The rest and sleep I got after my surgery was ideal. The hotel was quiet and I was at peace. The morning breakfast buffet was. incredible! I've never seen such a spread! The food was all well-prepared, fresh and the facilities were immaculately clean! I'm already planning to stay here on my second surgery in a couple of months! I love this Hampton Inn!

Pros:

We are so loving it here! The hotel room is so clean and spacious for a family of 4. Upon arrival Paige was excellent at her service. We felt so happy and glad for her outstanding service. She was kind, helpful and had gone beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay here. Breakfast was delicious with variety of choices. This is the best hotel for it's flexibility as we can use the amenities till midnight. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. We are definitely recommending to friends and family visiting Des Moines!🤗

Phenomenal place to stay!
