Overall, the hotel was clean, but it feels a bit outdated and not particularly special or upscale. There were some noticeable paint stains on the carpet, and I did see some mold in the shower caulking, which could definitely use attention.
The location is a major highlight, located right on the river and very convenient. I also really enjoyed the main atrium, especially the natural light coming through the glass ceiling, and the balcony outside the room was a nice touch.
I’d especially like to recognize Wesley at the front desk for excellent customer service. There was an issue with my reservation as my extended stay request had been canceled, and I arrived without a room for the first night. Wesley handled everything professionally, made sure I was taken care of, and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. Even though I lost my upgraded riverfront view, he did everything he could to make my stay as smooth as possible.
Overall, while the property could benefit from some updates, the location and customer service, especially from Wesley, helped make the stay a positive experience.
I was given an upgraded room upon checkin because of my Marriott status. This was not a 5 star property commanding the price to stay! The bathroom walls were painted dark brown on one side with an attempted patch of about 12x24 inches with a big crack on one side that was not sealed nor painted. The wall where the light switch was in the bathroom was two different colors and the paint had turned yellow and appeared dirty. The bedding looked like wrinkled sheets.
As a platinum elite member, I was embarrassed I had brought a friend there and to top it off, we had to pay $60 for breakfast and left hungry. The breakfast was poor. All there was on the plate was one egg scrambled and about 4 small bites of hash brown potatoes. There wasn’t even a slice of orange garnish or something to make it look appealing or make the plate look filled.,
The next night we stayed at a motel for $69. It was not new, but clean and beautifully decorated. And, we were given a buffet hot/ cold breakfast which included waffles for FREE and FREE PARKING too.”
For 70,000 points plus $45 parking and no breakfast included, I felt ripped off! I expected more from Marriott on the waterfront. Since Covid you appear to have gone down hill. No small bar of soap to wash your hands and face. You had to get it from the bottles on the shower wall.
I wish I had stayed at a lesser Marriott property where I got breakfast and maybe free parking too.
Check in was so seamless! She was fantastic! We utilized the concierge lounge and Kimberly was on top of everything. Ready to help us with what we needed.

Marriott Riverfront Savannah is an excellent venue for business meetings and conferences. The guest rooms and entire facilities are well maintained and staff is very attentive. The location is in close proximity to River and Bay Street shopping and dining and on the beautiful Savannah River.

The location was great
After we checked in and got to our room I disinfected the room. As I was wiping down the bathroom there was blood on the sink handle and on my wipe. I called and got the room switched and they said they upgraded us and if anything it was downgraded. We lost our balcony and it was just not a great room
We got. Very disappointed
Kimberly was absolutely wonderful during my stay. She was incredibly hardworking, attentive, and genuinely pleasant to interact with. I truly enjoyed our conversations—her energy was warm, engaging, and made me feel welcomed right away.
What stood out the most was her impressive knowledge of Savannah, especially the downtown area. She shared great insights and gave excellent recommendations for both food and drinks that really enhanced my experience while visiting.
Kimberly is truly a valuable asset to the concierge team. Her professionalism, personality, and dedication made my time here even more enjoyable. I would definitely love to return, and a big part of that is because of the experience she helped create.

Great location and view
Instead of leaving waters in room or giving at check in, when I went to purchase water downstairs first learned of them being free, and was handed 2 warm bottles by front desk
We had a great experience starting with check in all the way till check out. This hotel is in a great location and we had good views of the Savannah River. The room was perfect. Clean and well stocked. Even though our room faced the Atrium we weren’t bothered by the noise level. The best was our experience dining at the Atrium Bar area. Our waiter, Adii, was the best. He always greeted us with a smile and made sure our food was just as we liked. He was friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. He is definitely an asset to your facility. We will be back next year.
