This particular experience was not what we expected it to be. We were not checked in until about 7:00 pm. The bathroom in the room were very filthy and gross.
The hotel stay was amazing. There was plenty to do on the property. The sand beach at Oystercatchers was very peaceful, with my drink in my hand sitting next to the fire, watching the sunset, what else could you want to wrap up your vacation. Oh and the airport is only a six minute drive.
Great hotel. Clean, spacious rooms. Good view from my room. Staff really helpful, great food and facilities. Gym was everything I needed. Pools clean and not too crowded. Couldnt fault this hotel. Went for business but would suit for couple or family holiday also.
Clean. Quiet. Unlike most airport hotels.
Shuttle bus too infrequent.
Top notch hotel with top notch service. Hotel is well maintained. Rooms are in excellent condition. Pool areas are beautiful. Casada villas put this location over the top. This is truly a GRAND Hyatt!
Beware of prices for food and beverages... Hotel and grounds are nice. Will not return based on what you receive for the price paid.
The pool wasn’t very child friendly.
My husband and I had an amazing stay at the Grand Hyatt Tampa! The entire property was spotless, and the rooms were clean, comfortable and inviting, exactly what you want after a long day. Staff was incredibly courteous and made everything feel easy and welcoming from check-in to check out.
The food was fantastic with plenty of options and there’s so much to do right on site that you never feel bored. Whether you’re relaxing or exploring, it’s a great balance.
Highly recommend if you’re staying in Tampa, this is a wonderful hotel choice
Not at all what I expected from a Grand Hyatt. I have stayed at many Hyatts from Hawaii to Sedona and Grand Central in NYC - this one does not live up- to grand Hyatt name is very dates. I am also a Hyatt member and was not given any Hyatt privileges or acknowledgment.
We had a wonderful stay. Our flight was cancelled late at night. After rebooking, I immediately searched for a nearby 4-star Hyatt and booked a room at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. We called the hotel for a shuttle, and the shuttle happened to be at the airport waiting for flight crew, so we were able to get a ride. We gad a beautiful, spacious and comfortable room overlooking the Bay. It was beautiful in the morning. We dined at the 1823 Kitchen & Bar. The food and service were top notch. We asked for a late check out since our flight was in the evening, and we enjoyed a pleasant shuttle ride back to the airport. Would definitely stay here again!
I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years, and while Hyatt always maintains a high standard—which is why it’s our hotel of choice—you and your team truly went above and beyond those expectations.
Amazing property directly on the Bay! This place has every amenity you would ever need. The staff is super friendly! Convenient location within minutes of the airport and great central access to Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater!
I’ve dialed up the sass and sharpened the comparisons to give this review the "expensive-disappointment" energy it deserves.
Review: Luxury Prices, Cubicle Vibes
I had massive hopes for this place, mostly because the nightly rate suggested I’d be sleeping on silk sheets and fed grapes by a cherub. Instead, I’m pretty sure I stayed in a glorified Excel spreadsheet. Here is why this "luxury" stay felt more like a corporate team-building retreat gone wrong:
The "Invisible" Staff: If you enjoy being treated like a ghost in a haunted mansion, you’ll love it here. No greeting at the door, no acknowledgement at the desk—I’m convinced the staff is actually participating in a high-stakes game of Hide-and-Seek.
The Aesthetic: It’s a refurbished office tower, and they aren't even trying to hide it. Adding a pool and a pile of sand doesn't make it a "resort"; it makes it a construction site with a deep end. I kept waiting for someone to hand me a quarterly earnings report while I was in my swimsuit.
The TP Tragedy: We need to talk about the toilet paper. At these prices, I expect plush, multi-ply comfort. What I got was one-ply tracing paper. It was so thin I could see my disappointed future through it.
The Hampton Inn Burn: I’ve had better service and more "warmth" at a Hampton Inn, and they didn’t require me to take out a second mortgage for a stay.
Bottom Line: You’re charging 5-star prices for a 2-star cubicle. Figure it out.
We were given a broken crib and we didn’t notice until our baby almost get stuck between the broken frame. Contacted the front desk 11pm they said they’ll give us a new one but then they ghosted us until we complaint to the manager the next morning.
It was a beautiful property and the staff were lovely. The fitness room was fantastic.
Bathrooms need to be updated as they are quite old looking (seals around the tub are broken and moldy etc) it also did not have an exhaust fan which is odd.
